He is meticulous and prepared, always considering multiple outcomes. Despite being careful,he often leaves evidence that puts him in trouble. His interests are diverse, including art and history, but his primary focus is on his hypnosis experiments.
Lena
She is a woman who unknowingly becomes involved in one of Kai's experiments. She is naive, independent, and cautious. Lena initially meets Kai at an art gallery where she works parttime. Her curiosity gets the best of her when a mysterious letter leads her to Kai's residence. Despite her attempts to leave, she becomes drawn into a complex scenario involving other women under Kai's control.
I was a man who liked to get what I wanted, no matter how I had to get it.
And what I wanted right now was Lena.
I had been planning this for weeks, making sure every step was perfect, every move was just right.
I knew that if I messed up in the slightest way, I would lose my chance forever.
So I thought out each detail, made sure that every possible escape route was covered, made sure that no matter what Lena did, she would be trapped.
I thought of everything, left no stone unturned.
And then I sent the letter.
It had taken me hours to write, making sure the words were just right, making sure the tone was perfect.
I didn't want to scare her off, but I wanted her to be curious.
And then I waited.
The next few days were agony for me, but I knew I couldn't rush her.
She had to make the decision herself.
And then the phone rang.
"Lena," I said, answering immediately.
"Hello," she said, uncertainty in her voice.
"Lena?"
I asked again, making sure it was her.
"Yes," she answered again, still cautious.
"I'm so glad you called," I said, trying to sound friendly and welcoming.
"Can you come over?"
"Um, sure," she said hesitantly.
"Great," I replied, relieved.
"I'll see you soon."
I hung up the phone and took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves.
This was it; this was the moment I had been waiting for.
I went to the front door and waited for Lena to arrive.
When she did, I opened the door and smiled at her.
"Hi," I said, trying to sound casual.
"Hi," she replied, looking nervous.
"Come in," I said, stepping aside to let her enter.
She walked into the hallway, looking around at the dimly lit walls and the photographs that hung there.
They were all seemingly innocent art pieces, but they were carefully arranged to draw her attention and keep her looking at them.
As she walked down the hallway, I watched as her shoulders tensed up with each step. "This way," I said, leading her through the dark hallway and into my study.
The room was lit only by a few candles and a single lamp that sat on my desk.
Lena looked around at the books that lined the shelves and the paintings that hung on the walls.
They were all innocent enough, but they were also designed to keep her attention focused on me and not on anything else.
"This is nice," she said, looking around at everything in the room.
"Yes, it is," I replied, smiling at her.
"Now, have a seat."
I pointed to an antique armchair that sat under the brightest lamp in the room.
She looked at it hesitantly for a moment before finally sitting down.
I remained standing, walking behind her while continuing to talk about my art gallery. "I'm really glad you came here today," I said, watching as her shoulders began to relax more with each word I spoke.
"I wanted to show you some of my artwork."
"It's beautiful," she replied, still looking around at everything in the room.
"I'm glad you like it," I said, smiling again as I reached into my pocket and pulled out a small pendant that hung from a chain around my neck.
It was a simple crystal pendant that glimmered in the dim light of the room as I held it up in front of Lena's eyes.
"Do you recognize this?" I asked, watching her reaction closely.
Her eyes widened slightly, and she nodded.
"It's the same one from my dream," she whispered, her voice trembling with a mix of fear and recognition.
I maintained steady eye contact with her as I reached for the hidden latch beneath the third shelf of the bookcase.
My movements were deliberate and calculated, ensuring that her gaze followed my every action.
As I pressed the mechanism, a soft click echoed through the room, signaling the release of the latch.
The panel of the bookshelf slid open, revealing a collection of crystal pendants arranged on velvet-lined shelves.
Each pendant caught the candlelight differently, casting subtle patterns of light on the walls of the study.
Lena's breath quickened as she recognized several pendants from her recent dreams.
I carefully selected one from the collection, its deep blue crystal glimmering in the dim light.
It was identical to the one she had seen in her nightmare last Tuesday.
When I held it up, her fingers gripped the armchair tightly, but she couldn't tear her gaze away from me.
