Judge Claude Frollo & Severus Snape
Judge Claude Frollo
conflicted, and obsessive. Frollo is determined to capture Esmeralda, a gypsy dancer he believes is a witch. His obsession with her leads him to commit atrocities, including ordering the death of Quasimodo's mother. Despite his harsh exterior, he struggles with his own desires and moral dilemmas.
Esmeralda
independent, and compassionate. Esmeralda captures the attention of both Frollo and Quasimodo with her grace and beauty. Her presence sparks chaos in the city as she becomes the object of desire for multiple men. Despite her innocence, she faces danger from those who seek to possess her.
Quasimodo
naive, and protective. Quasimodo lives under the care of Frollo but finds solace in Esmeralda's kindness towards him. His love for Esmeralda drives him to protect her from harm despite his physical limitations.
"Ah, Judge Claude Frollo, how delightful to see you again."
A figure emerged from the crowd.
It was Severus Snape, the potions master from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Frollo frowned.
"Severus, what are you doing here? I thought you were busy torturing those little brats at the school?"
Snape's lip twitched in distaste.
"Ah, yes. Well, I needed a break from all that... chaos. And what better place to find peace than in 15thcentury Paris?"
Frollo snorted.
"If you call this 'peace' then you're more deranged than I thought. This city is a nightmare."
Snape's eyes narrowed.
"Indeed. And you, Judge Frollo, seem to be the root of all evil here."
Frollo bristled.
"What are you insinuating?"
Snape's gaze lingered on Esmeralda as she danced gracefully in the center of the square.
"Ah, nothing. Just that your methods seem a bit... extreme. Kidnapping and framing an innocent woman as a witch? Really?"
Frollo's face turned red with rage while Esmeralda continued to dance without noticing their conversation.
"Innocent? You know nothing about her, Severus. She's a seductress, a witch who has cast a spell over all the men in this city."
Snape's eyebrow rose.
"Really? Well, I have a potion that can prove or disprove that theory. It's a brew that strips away pretense and forces the drinker to confront their deepest motivations."
Snape reached into his black robes and withdrew a small crystal vial filled with shimmering purple liquid.
Frollo's fingers twitched toward the hilt of his sword as Snape held the potion up to the light.
The crowd around them continued their revelry, unaware of the tense exchange between Frollo and Snape.
Snape's voice was measured as he spoke.
"When consumed, this potion reveals the true nature of one's soul. If Esmeralda is truly innocent, then she will be unaffected. But if she is indeed a seductress, then she will be consumed by lust."
Frollo's eyes widened.
"Give it to her."
Snape's smirk grew wider.
"Ah, but I think you should partake as well, Judge Frollo. After all, you're the one accusing her of witchcraft. Perhaps this potion will reveal your true motivations for doing so."
Frollo knocked the vial from Snape's hand.
It shattered on the cobblestones, its contents seeping between the cracks.
The crowd gasped as Snape and Frollo locked eyes, the tension between them unbroken by the lost potion.
Frollo paced back and forth in his chambers, the memory of Snape's challenge in the square still burning in his mind.
He stopped at the window and gazed out at the city below.
The sun was setting over the rooftops, casting a warm orange glow over the bustling streets.
As he scanned the crowd, Frollo's eyes landed on a familiar figure standing by the steps of Notre Dame Cathedral.
It was Snape, his black robes stark against the vibrant colors of the evening crowd.
Frollo's blood boiled as he watched Snape withdraw another vial from his robes.
It was the same shimmering purple liquid as before, and Frollo could feel its allure even from this distance.
He turned away from the window and descended the stone stairs of the Palace of Justice, his footsteps echoing off the walls like a drumbeat.
The evening crowds parted as Frollo strode through them, his destination clear in his mind.
Snape looked up as Frollo approached, his pale hands still clutching the vial of potion.
"Ah, Judge Frollo. Perhaps you've reconsidered my offer?"
Snape drawled, extending the vial toward Frollo like a snake offering its venom.
Frollo's fingers trembled as he reached for it, but he caught himself just in time.
He stared at the vial, the purple liquid glimmering in the fading sunlight.
The potion seemed to pulse with possibility, its allure almost irresistible.
The crowd around them had thinned, leaving only Frollo and Snape standing in the shadow of Notre Dame.
Snape's voice was measured as he spoke again.
"As I said before, this potion will reveal one's true nature. If Esmeralda is innocent, then she will be unaffected. But if she is indeed a seductress, then she will be consumed by lust."
Frollo's fingers twitched toward the hilt of his sword, but he restrained himself.
The thought of finally proving Esmeralda's wickedness was too enticing to resist.
Without warning, Frollo lunged forward and snatched the vial from Snape's outstretched hand.
The glass was cold against his palm as he clutched it to his chest.
Snape made no move to stop him, his black eyes glinting with satisfaction.
Frollo turned on his heel and strode away, the vial clutched tightly in his hand.
The streets were growing darker, the shadows cast by the setting sun deepening into night.
As he marched toward the Palace of Justice, Frollo could feel the weight of the potion in his hand, both promise and threat.
The potion seemed to pulse with power, its allure almost irresistible.
A group of guards parted before him as Frollo entered the palace courtyard, their eyes following him as he marched purposefully across the cobblestones.
At the grand staircase, Frollo paused for a moment, glancing back to ensure Snape hadn't followed.
The purple liquid sloshed gently in its glass prison as he ascended the steps.
His chambers awaited above, where he would finally determine his next move against Esmeralda.
He entered his chambers, the door closing with a finality that echoed his resolve.
