I was rummaging through my room, looking for something to do.
I'd read all my books, done all my homework, and built all my LEGO sets.
I was about to give up when I looked under my bed.
Nothing but dust bunnies.
I looked under my dresser.
Same thing.
I looked under my desk and found a paperclip, a pen, and a quarter.
I tried to use the quarter to buy candy from the machine in the break room at school, but it wouldn't take it.
I put the paperclip and pen back under the desk and stood up to look around my room again.
I was about to give up when I looked at the floorboards.
I stared at them for a moment, thinking...
Then I got a screwdriver and pried one of them loose.
Underneath the floorboard, I found an old diary.
It was leather-bound with gold lettering that read "Property of Benjamin Brown."
I opened it to find that it was full of handwritten entries.
The first entry was dated 1850, and it talked about how Benjamin Brown had moved to Greenfield, the town where I lived.
According to the diary, he had moved here because he had made some enemies in the last town he lived in.
