I was outside in my backyard when I saw a green Rock on the ground.
I picked it up and started looking at it.
It was a nice green color and seemed to be a normal rock.
I squeezed it in my hand and nothing happened.
I threw it up in the air and caught it.
I squeezed it again and still nothing happened.
I threw it up in the air again and caught it.
This time I was throwing it up in the air to squeeze it harder.
I was going to squeeze it really hard and BAM! Nothing happened.
I threw it up in the air to catch it again and I missed it.
The green Rock fell to the ground and broke into a million chunks that went flying everywhere.
Some went behind my shed, some went under my deck, some even got stuck in the siding of my house.
Chips of the green rock were everywhere in front of me in the grass.
I stood there looking at all the little pieces of the green rock wondering what to do next.
I bent down to pick a piece up when I heard a chirp in the distance.
Out came a squirrel running towards me across the grass.
It ran right up to me and stopped.
The squirrel looked at me for a moment then looked down at the chunks of green rock in the grass.
It sniffed one of them and picked it up.
The squirrel then tossed the green shard into its mouth and swallowed it.
I was shocked, what did it just do?
The squirrel froze.
It stood there for a moment not moving.
Suddenly, a faint green glow started coming from its stomach.
The glow grew in intensity and started to spread throughout its body.
It was like wildfire as it spread through its fur and down its legs and arms.
The squirrel’s tiny muscles started to bulge and stretch.
Its bones began cracking as they were growing.
Its eyes glowed bright green and the grey fur turned a bright radioactive green color.
It grew bigger and bigger, towering over my house, casting a huge shadow over my backyard.
All of the other pieces of the rock lifted off the ground and started hovering in the air around the giant squirrel.
They circled it like satellites around a planet.
The squirrel let out a deafening roar that shook the earth beneath my feet.
I stood there paralyzed as the giant squirrel towered over my neighborhood.
Its fur was glowing with an otherworldly green energy.
The rock fragments continued their hypnotic orbit around its massive muscular form, leaving trails of emerald light in their wake.
My throat went dry as I noticed the creature’s eyes were fixed on me - they were still recognizably squirrel-like, but now the size of car tires and pulsing with the same verdant power as its fur.
Fighting against my trembling legs, I took one small step forward, raising my hands in what I hoped was a non-threatening gesture.
"Easy there, little guy," I called out, my voice barely audible over the low rumble emanating from its chest.
The squirrel paused, its colossal eyes narrowing, and then, with a swift motion, it turned and leapt over the horizon, leaving me alone in the eerie silence of my transformed backyard.
