Scenario:Below are my initial thoughts where I have some of the first few chapters drafted. To give you the backstory first.
The overall theme of the story is about reincarnation and the amalgamation of the experience of the soul from different lives and iterations. Each life leads to gaining abilities, talents, knowledge, and also pain and learning.
The story starts in the near future, where technology is advanced. The protagonist is lying on a medical care bed as he is old and dying. The advanced medical tech is keeping him alive, but not for long. He is the a well respected psychiatrist who has dedicated his life on patient care, research, as well as the advancement of not just mental health care but also in the research of spirituality and soul experience. Before he passed away, he has a short conversation with God and has a review and discussion of his life, the good and the bad.
The second scene relates to the protagonist's journey to the spiritual world, where he slowly discovers the familiarity and affinity with various elements, which laid a hidden link to the later full spectrum elemental magic affinity that the protagonist slowly discover in the story.
The third scene also happens in the spiritual world where he meets with various Gods and ascended masters. These figures are Jesus, Hermes (as portrayed in the story of the honest woodcutter), Isis, Anubis, Archangel Michael, the lady kwan yin, and Fortuna. The meeting took place during a festive event of the spiritual world. The meeting of these figures also laid a hidden link between the relationships of the protagonist and these figures where he has met and know them personally in his many previous lives. Eventually the protagonist was being blessed with various symbolic gifts and then led to another round of reincarnation. However, this time the reincarnation is different as this is a bonus given to the protagonist due to his good deeds and accumulated wisdom, he is allowed to carry all his memories and knowledge in this reincarnation, and thus also the symbolic gifts given to him by the Gods as blessings and various magical abilities that will later slowly develop and awaken as the story unfold.
The main story happens in an epic high fantasy world similar to the Tolkien-inspired world with multiple races, humans, orcs, elves, dwarves, fairies, dragons, and other races, and prominent use of magic. The protagonist is born into a high elf family, the 4th child, being the daughter of the ruling lord of a critical elven city. The high elves have suffered a significant defeat at the hands of the humans, who have betrayed the high elves after joining forces with the humans, elves, dwarves, fairs, dragons and other races of the good against the dark lords. Right after the decisive battle and victory over the dark forces, the humans attacked and wiped out the high elves' forces, celebrating and returning to their capital city, Avalon. Huge swathes of land and multiple cities were wiped out by the humans, and a lot of elves were slaughtered, and the female elves were sold into slavery, or were forced to serve the high lords and nobles of the humans due to the legendary beauty of the high elves. This group of humans are more aggressive, sort of pseudo-Christian in belief system, white, and a little bit more extreme. More like the culture and region during medieval Europe that engaged in witch hunts and had inquisitors to make sure everyone was loyal to the church.
The rest of the high elves retreated eastwards into the woodlands, bothering another human nation to the south. This human country is similar to the Song dynasty Chinese. This human country did not participate much in the conflict with the dark lords due to its location and cultural differences. The high elves retained their region and independence due to both the more friendly attitude of this human country, which is more accepting and peaceful, as well as their need to have the high elves acting as a buffer to guard against the more violent and aggressive human country, what are more nomadic and likes to plunder.
The world is filled with magic through an energy that is everywhere like mana. Not everyone is as good at manipulating mana. Some are more talented than the others, and usually their talents start to show up at 3-5 years old. The best of them are sorcerers, wizards, and mages. They can wield magic in the rawest form. The magic is basically elemental in nature, where there are mages who can channel the energy and manipulate it in accordance with their will. Each mage has a difference in elemental affinity, and the more they are similar to and aligned with the element, the better they can wield it. Usually they can only be affiliated with one to two elements. Other mana-sensitive individuals can channel this energy source into raw power and defence potential, making them very good warriors, while some can be swift and potent as rangers, as well as some good at hiding in shadows as thieves and assassins. Others also can guide mana to crafting and blacksmiths, where they can imbue magic into artefacts. There are even magic wielders who are good at channelling magic for healing, necromancy, as well as via the use of Magic Circle or enchantments.
The state of the world is generally peaceful, while the inquisitor faction is very on edge due to a prophecy where the human dominance will be coming to an end via a divine intervention of a new born non-human. Basically, the human worlds are ruled by five empires, three in the west (similar to Europe), one in the middle (like the Middle East), and one in the east (the Song dynasty-like empire). The European empires are very Christian-like in base religion, though not always seeing eye to eye, but on amicable terms. The church has a significant influence on politics and can always call for a crusade to wipe out the non-believers or those who dare challenge the church. A neutral large city state was located somewhere between the Middle East Empire and the East Empire, and has a vibe like the Central Asia feel . The neutral city state in the seat of learning and wisdom where scholars and children all over the world would want to go and learn.
I want the narrative style to be:
1. Tone & Atmosphere: Poetic, melancholic, and introspective. Blend philosophical depth with emotional subtlety. The mood should feel meditative and immersive.
2. Pacing & Structure: Slow and deliberate. Use short, well-controlled paragraphs with natural rhythm. Allow space for silence and reflection. Use ellipses or pauses sparingly and meaningfully.
3. Descriptive Style: Rich in sensory detail without being excessive. Every image should evoke emotion—light, temperature, breath, sound, or silence.
4. Dialogue: Minimalistic, precise, and layered with subtext. Avoid exposition. Let emotions speak through gesture, timing, and implication.
5. Narrative Voice: Mainly First-person, especially when involving scenes of the protagonist, otherwise limited third-person, introspective, and unreliable in a poetic way. The narrator should feel like someone aware of their own mortality or metaphysical transition.
6. Philosophical Depth: Themes of life, death, regret, transformation, time, and the soul should be subtly embedded.
7. Avoid: Direct exposition, overly dramatic language, clichés, and flat descriptions. Maintain nuance and suggestion.

I was lying on the medical care bed, the advanced technology and medicine were trying to keep me alive, but it was a losing battle.
I could hear my heart beating slower and slower, the sound of the life support machines starting to beep irregularly.
My skin felt cold, and my breath was getting shallower and shallower.
I knew that I was dying, and I was okay with that.
I had lived a long life, well over a hundred years, thanks to the advanced medical technology.
I had seen so many things in my life, experienced so many things, good and bad.
I had been a psychiatrist for most of my life, as well as doing research into mental health.
But I had also done research into spirituality and the soul.
I believed that there was something more to life than just our bodies, something more to our minds than just our brains.
And I had spent decades researching and experimenting with that belief.
Sometimes I got results, sometimes I didn’t, but slowly I built up knowledge and understanding of what happened after we died.
And now, it was my turn to see if all that knowledge was true or not.
I closed my eyes and let go of my last breath.
Everything went silent and dark.
Then suddenly I felt myself being pulled through space and time, everything around me was just a blur, until I stopped at a large white door.
I approached the door, it was huge and imposing, but I wasn’t afraid.
The door was white, but it wasn’t just a plain white, it had an inner light that pulsed like a heartbeat.
The surface of the door seemed to ripple and flow like water, as if it were alive.
I reached out my hand to touch the door, and as I did, I felt a surge of energy run through me.
It was as if the door was responding to my presence, welcoming me.
As I touched the door, it opened inward, revealing a large chamber beyond.
The chamber was filled with a bright, pulsing light that seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere at the same time.
The light was so intense that it was hard to see anything else in the room.
But as I stepped forward, I began to make out shapes and forms amidst the light.
There were four streams of light that ran along the walls of the room, each one representing one of the elements: fire, water, earth, and air.
Each stream of light seemed to be alive, pulsing with its own unique energy.
As I looked at each stream of light, I felt a sense of recognition and connection. The fire stream was bright and fierce, its energy pulsing with a rhythmic beat that seemed to match the rhythm of my own heart.
The water stream was calm and soothing, its energy flowing smoothly and steadily like a river.
The earth stream was solid and strong, its energy pulsing with a deep and abiding power that seemed to resonate with my very bones.
And the air stream was light and free, its energy dancing and swirling like a breeze on a summer day.
As I looked at each stream of light, I felt a sense of connection to it, as if it were a part of me that I had long forgotten.
And as I reached out to touch each stream, I felt a surge of energy run through me once again.
It was as if the elements were awakening something deep within me, something that had been dormant for far too long.
As I stood there, surrounded by the pulsing streams of light, I felt a sense of peace and contentment wash over me.
I stood there for a long time, feeling the energy of each stream of light.
The fire stream burned with a passionate intensity, its energy coursing through me like a river of flame.
It was as if the fire was awakening something deep within me, something that had been dormant for far too long.
The water stream flowed with a soothing grace, its energy washing over me like a cool breeze on a summer day.
It was as if the water was healing some ancient wound, some pain that I had carried with me for far too long.
The earth stream pulsed with a steady strength, its energy grounding me and connecting me to the world around me.
It was as if the earth was reminding me of my place in the universe, of my connection to all things.
And the air stream danced with a light and carefree freedom, its energy lifting me up and carrying me away on its gentle breeze.
It was as if the air was setting me free, freeing me from all my worries and cares. As I stood there, feeling the energy of each stream of light, I began to reach out and touch them.
As soon as I did, memories began to flood into my mind.
Memories of past lives, of experiences and events that I had never known before.
I saw myself as a healer, using my knowledge and skills to help others.
I saw myself as a warrior, fighting for what I believed in and protecting those I cared about.
I saw myself as a scholar, seeking knowledge and understanding in order to make the world a better place.
And I saw myself as an artist, using my creativity to express myself and bring joy to others.
As I continued to touch each stream of light, the memories continued to flood into my mind.
I saw myself in different times and places, experiencing different cultures and ways of life.
I saw myself as a man and as a woman, young and old, rich and poor. And through it all, I felt a sense of connection and continuity.
I realized that no matter who I was or where I was or when I was, I was always the same person at my core.
I was always driven by the same desires and motivations.
And I was always connected to the world around me in some way. As I stood there, surrounded by the pulsing streams of light, I began to feel a sense of peace and contentment wash over me once again.
