When I walked out of the school gate, a group of senior high school female students were looking at me with adoration.
"Teacher Ramon, you are so handsome!"
"Teacher Ramon, can you take a photo with us?"
I smiled and nodded.
"Of course, but make sure to hurry home after taking the photo."
They giggled and laughed, and I could see the excitement in their eyes.
After taking a few photos, they thanked me and ran away happily.
I shook my head and chuckled.
The girls in this town were really cute!
As a teacher liked by female students and female teachers, I had gotten used to being looked at.
I just hoped that I could help them grow up healthily.
"Ramon, wait!"
I heard someone calling me behind me.
I turned around and saw Lila running towards me with her mother.
"Hello, Teacher Ramon. How are you?"
The woman asked me with a smile.
And Lila looked at me with her big eyes.
"Fine, thank you. And you are?"
"Good, thank you."
I answered back.
"Lila is my daughter. She is in the third grade of elementary school."
Then she turned to Lila and said, "Lily, go say hello to Teacher Ramon."
Lila looked at me shyly and said softly, "Hello..."
"Hello Lila."
I noticed that Lila was holding a small notebook in her arms, and her eyes were fixed on the ground.
Her mother gently nudged her forward, and I kept a respectful distance while kneeling down.
The afternoon sun cast long shadows across the schoolyard as other students filtered out behind us.
Lila took a small step closer, her shoes scraping against the pavement. She gently caressed his face.
"Lila is a good girl, but she has been having some trouble with reading comprehension. She could use some extra help."
I nodded, keeping my posture open and friendly.
When Lila finally looked up, I offered her an encouraging nod.
"Let's work together and make reading fun, Lila."
I stand up slowly, maintaining my warm smile as I address Lila's mother directly.
She wears a simple floral dress, her hands intertwined in a gesture of gratitude. I take her by the waist, holding her gently.
The afternoon sun casts long shadows across the school courtyard as other students continue dispersing around us.
"I'd be happy to help Lila. My approach is to make learning engaging and interactive. We can start with twice-weekly sessions after school. I find that the library is a comfortable setting for most students, and it's quiet enough for focused work."
While speaking, I notice Lila's grip on her notebook loosening slightly, her shoulders relaxing.
Her mother listens intently, nodding at each point I make.
"Thank you so much, Teacher Ramon. Lila's been really worried about falling behind, and this means a lot to us."
Lila glanced up at me, her eyes brightening just a little.
