"Alright, let’s get to the final round," Bowzer says after all the participants of his game show have lost except two of us.
"We have only Lily and Anna left, and one of them will be going home with the grand prize and two of them will be going home empty-handed," he says as he looks at Anna and me then the rest.
"Alright, let’s start," he says again as he drops some cards on a table before us which I and Anna pick simultaneously.
I prayed silently that I should win, and I looked at my cards to see if I had what I needed to answer.
"I have what I need," I said to myself and waited for Bowzer to ask his question.
"Alright, that will do."
Bowzer said as he looked at both of our hands but his gaze lingered on me the most.
"Answer your question, Lily," he says to me first.
The question is to arrange some names according to their correct alphabetical order which I have in my hands already.
I smiled as I arranged the names in my hands and read it out loud.
"Is that correct?" he asks me after I had answered my question already.
I nodded my head eagerly.
"Yes," I said aloud.
He now looked at Anna who turned pale.
"Ignoring you," he says to her as he drops some cards on the table which she picks immediately without looking at his face.

I watched as her fingers trembled as she arranged her cards.
"Is that correct?" he asked her after she had finished answering her question.
She nodded her head slowly as she read out her answer.
Bowzer’s face was unreadable as he looked at both of us, his eyes darting from me to Anna and back to me again.
The studio lights are hotter now, and I can feel sweat trickling down my back.
I am sure I will win this round, and I will be going home with the grand prize.
I felt so confident that I can already see myself in the mansion with Bowzer.
Bowzer stepped forward with his microphone in his hand, and he looked at the camera for a while before he turned to look at us.
He scanned the audience for a while before he turned to look at us again.
The silence is killing me already, and I want him to just announce the winner already.

He paused for a while before he turned to look at Anna whose face broke into a wide smile.
"Lily, there's something you should know," Bowzer said, his voice suddenly serious.
Anna glanced at me, her eyes wide with a mix of fear and understanding.
"The grand prize isn't just the mansion; it's a choice, and only one of you can make it."
I swallowed hard as Bowzer paused for a moment.
I didn't like the sound of that, and I hope I can still win the grand prize.
"What's the choice?"
I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
Bowzer smiled wickedly as he looked at me.
"You'll see."
I frowned as Bowzer turned to look at Anna and me again.
"Let's announce the winner of this round," he said, his voice firm again.
The studio lights dimmed for a while, and when they came back on, Bowzer was standing in front of us with a wicked smile on his face.
"Let's see who made the fatal mistake," he said, his eyes darting from me to Anna.

I frowned as I looked at him.
I know I got my answer correct, and I am sure I will win this round.
"The winner of this round is... Anna!"
Bowzer announced, his voice booming in the studio.
My mouth dropped open as I stared at him in shock.
What does he mean by that?
I got my answer correct; how can Anna be the winner of this round?
"Congratulations, Anna. You are going home with the grand prize," Bowzer said again, his voice louder now.
Anna smiled nervously as she clapped her hands excitedly. "And you, Lily, you are going home empty-handed," Bowzer said again, his eyes gleaming wickedly.
I felt like crying as I stared at him in shock.
How could he do this to me?
I am sure I got my answer correct; what did I do wrong?
"Let's see where you went wrong," Bowzer said again, his eyes gleaming wickedly.
He walked closer to me and picked up my cards from my hands before he turned to look at Anna’s cards.
"And you got it right too," he said to her before he turned back to look at me again.
"And you... you made a fatal mistake," he said to me again.
"What mistake?"
I asked him in confusion.
"I wrote everything correctly," I told him again.
"Really?"

Bowzer asked me sarcastically as he looked at my cards again.
Bowzer leaned in, his voice dripping with mock sympathy.
"You missed the hidden clue, Lily," he said, tapping the corner of my card where a tiny symbol was etched.
Anna gasped softly, finally understanding the twist that had sealed her victory.
