Dylan Carter
adventurous, and somewhat reckless. Dylan discovers a mysterious game installation package while playing online. Ignoring warnings, he installs it and finds himself in a cultivation world with a unique monetization system. He uses the system to summon characters, including his childhood friend Emily and a powerful warrior named Zhang Fei. Dylan navigates this new world, learning about its mechanics and building relationships with his summoned companions.
Emily Carter
loyal, and supportive. Emily is unexpectedly summoned by Dylan through the game system. Initially confused, she adapts quickly to her new surroundings and becomes an integral part of Dylan's journey in the cultivation world. She helps him understand the game's mechanics and provides emotional support as they navigate challenges together.
Zhang Fei
disciplined, and loyal. Zhang Fei becomes one of Dylan's earliest companions in the cultivation world. Despite cultural differences, he forms strong bonds with Dylan and Emily as they work together to overcome challenges in this new environment.
The game screen flickered for a moment, and I saw a game installation package pop up on the screen.
It was labeled "Night Attack - Single Packet Installation".
Below that were the instructions: "Double-click to install. The installation package is 100MB. Please ensure that your network is stable before proceeding."
I stared at the screen in confusion.
What was this all about?
Where did this installation package come from?
I didn't remember doing anything to trigger this, and besides, this wasn't part of the normal gameplay.
I tried to close the screen, but it wouldn't budge.
The installation package remained in front of me, taking up the entire screen.
It even blocked my mouse cursor.
I couldn't do anything.
Could it be a bug?
But I wasn't very sure either.
While I was hesitating, the screen suddenly popped up a message: "Reminder: The installation package is temporary and will be deleted after 10 minutes. Please install as soon as possible."
Looking at the message, I fell into deep thought.
Should I choose to install or not?
Although I didn't know what game this was, its sudden appearance made me feel a little curious.
Moreover, since it said it would be deleted after 10 minutes, what if I miss something important?
After a brief hesitation, I decided to install it.
I double-clicked the icon, and the screen went dark.
Then, a progress bar appeared on the screen, and it slowly filled up.
The installation seemed to be progressing smoothly.
As the progress bar reached 100%, a bright light suddenly flashed in front of my eyes.
The light was so intense that I had to close my eyes tightly.
When I opened them again, I found that everything around me had changed.
I was no longer sitting in front of the computer in my room, but standing in a dense forest.
The trees were towering above me, blocking out most of the sunlight.
The air was filled with the sounds of birds chirping and leaves rustling.
It was like I had entered a whole new world.
I looked around in confusion, trying to figure out where I was and how I got here.
But before I could make sense of anything, a voice suddenly echoed in my mind. "Welcome to Night Raid," it said.
"This is a new world created by us. You have been chosen to be one of the first players to enter this world. Here, you will have the opportunity to experience all sorts of adventures and challenges. But remember, this is not just a game. It's a whole new world that you are entering."
I was still trying to process what the voice was saying when it continued: "In this world, you will be able to choose your own path and make your own decisions. You will encounter all sorts of creatures, from friendly animals to fierce monsters. You will also have the opportunity to meet other players and form alliances or rivalries with them."
As the voice finished speaking, I looked around again at my surroundings.
The forest was even more vibrant than before, with all sorts of colors and textures jumping out at me.
I could see birds flitting through the trees and hear the sound of water flowing somewhere nearby.
It was like nothing I had ever seen before.
But as beautiful as this place was, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.
This wasn't just a game; it felt like a whole new reality that I had been transported into. As I stood there trying to make sense of everything, a figure suddenly appeared in front of me.
It was Zhang Fei, one of the characters from the game.
He was dressed in his usual armor and holding his sword in front of him.
Zhang Fei looked directly at me and said, "Your journey begins now."
Just then, a loud roar echoed through the forest.
Zhang Fei's eyes narrowed and he quickly pushed me to the ground.
His armor clinked as he moved, and I could hear the sound of leaves and twigs crunching beneath us.
I scrambled to my feet, my heart pounding in my chest.
As I looked around, a massive beast came crashing into the clearing.
It was unlike anything I had ever seen before, with scales that shimmered in the sunlight and eyes that glowed like embers.
The beast let out another deafening roar as it saw us, and it began to charge towards us.
Zhang Fei unsheathed his sword and positioned himself in front of me, ready to defend against the attack.
I quickly opened the game interface, trying to figure out what abilities or items I had at my disposal.
But as I looked through the menus, I realized that I didn't have any of the usual options available to me.
All I could do was move around and interact with the environment.
The beast lunged at us again, its jaws snapping wildly.
I took a deep breath, realizing that in this world, survival depended on more than just the game mechanics I once knew.
