The Flash has a lot of enemies, but none of them are as much of a pain in the butt as this guy.
The copycat.
He’s not a villain; he just wants to be The Flash.
He started by painting a giant “Flash" logo in red and gold paint on the side of the Second Street Bank.
Then he stole a bunch of red shoes and tied them together with yellow ribbon and hung them from a light post on Main.
That time, I rolled with it.
I even posed for a picture when one of the reporters from the National Ledger asked.
But then he went too far and stole my buddy Ed’s cat, Miller.
That’s where I draw the line.
"Barry, what’s going on?"
Joe Sklar asks when I burst into his office.
"I need you to trace Iris’s cell call. Now."
"Why? What happened?"
"Miller’s gone. The copycat took him."
Ed’s been looking all over Central City for his cat, and he came to me for help.
I know how much that animal means to him.
I’m going to get Miller back if it’s the last thing I do.
"The copycat stole Miller?"
Joe says, picking up his desk phone.
"Okay, okay. I’ll start calling around to some shelters—"
"No time for that. Iris just called and said she thinks she saw the copycat in the old warehouse down by the river."
"The one that burned last year?"
Joe says.
"That’s the one."
I grab Joe’s arm and start pulling him out of his office.

"Barry, wait. I don’t think we should be doing this."
"We don’t have time to argue, Joe. We have to go."
We’re almost at the warehouse when a security guard steps out of the shadows and blocks our path.
"Sorry, buddy, you’re not allowed in here," he says, crossing his arms over his chest.
I look at Joe, who shrugs.
That’s when I see it: a stack of pillows that someone threw out by the front door.
"Follow my lead," I whisper to Joe before ducking behind them.
"Hey!"
I yell at the guard.
He turns around just long enough for me to slip past him.
I motion for Joe to follow me and take off running.
The warehouse is huge and dark.

The only light comes from a few broken windows on the second floor.
It’s thick with dust and smells like smoke.
I can hear the sound of our footsteps echoing off the walls as we move through the dimly lit corridors.
We move quietly, listening for any sign of Miller or the copycat.
"Barry, did you hear that?" Joe whispers, stopping abruptly.
"Yeah, it sounded like a meow," I reply, straining my ears.
"Over there," Joe points towards a flickering light at the end of the hall.
