You could tell when a guy had his eye on another guy, because he would wear those sleeveless muscle shirts and grow four muscular arms to wrap around the other guy and turn him on.
It was easy to tell.
What was hard was finding a guy who would like you for who you were, even when you didn't have four arms to turn him on.
I knew that one day I would find my own special someone.
A guy who would like me for me, and not my extra limbs—or lack thereof.
"Hey Dylan," my best friend Lucas Brooks said as he sat down next to me at the bar.
"Hey man, how's it going?"
I asked him as I took a sip of my beer.
"It's going."
Lucas replied as he looked around at the different people in the bar.
It was a Friday night, and this place was packed, but none of that mattered because Lucas and I were stuck in the same boat—neither one of us could grow any extra limbs, and because of that, we were both single.
"Maybe tonight is our night," Lucas said as he clapped me on the back.
"I doubt it, but thanks for trying to cheer me up."
I drank a little more of my beer as I clapped him on the back and smiled.
"You're welcome, man."
We both looked around the bar as we each finished our beers in silence.
