We don't have time.
We don't born, we don't get old, we don't die.
But we do have memories.
And we just don't remember who we are and where we come from.
But one day, some of us met people from Earth.
And they shared their knowledge with us.
They told us about time, love, friendship, and loss.
We didn't know what they were talking about, but they seemed so serious and sincere that we decided to listen to them carefully.
And suddenly, we started to understand what time is, and what love, friendship, and loss are.
And then, we started to feel emotions.
And suddenly, everything became clear.
We understood that we were missing something very important in our lives.
And then, we started to fill the voids in our hearts with emotions and senses.
We started to love each other.
And then, suddenly, everything changed.
Suddenly, I had a purpose in my life.
I knew what I had to do and where I had to go.
And then, suddenly, I remembered who I am and where I come from.
But it was too late...
I met her on a hill overlooking a valley filled with strange plants that looked like giant feathers.
I was with Kira; we were just walking around, exploring our planet as usual.
I didn't know her name then; she just told me that people from Earth called her Lena.
The Eternity Paradox
Kira went down to the valley to check the feather-plants, and I sat down on the hill next to Lena.
She was looking at the sky, and her eyes were shining.
She told me that she had heard about two people from Earth who met in a garden.
They were strangers at first, but then they started to talk and share their food.
Then, they began to walk together and help each other.
And one day, they realized that they felt something strange in their chests when they saw each other.
It was as if their hearts were beating faster and warmer than usual.
And when they touched each other's hands, they trembled with excitement.
I looked at my own hand while Lena was telling me this story, and I noticed that it was shaking too.
I didn't know what love was then, but it sounded like a strange and beautiful thing.
The Eternity Paradox
It was as if I remembered it from somewhere, but I couldn't quite place it. When Lena finished talking, I reached out to touch one of the feather-plants that grew near us.
It swayed gently in the breeze, and its softness surprised me.
After Lena's story, I sat cross-legged on the hill, watching her rummage through her backpack.
She pulled out a small, smooth stone that glowed with a soft blue light.
It was no bigger than my palm, and it seemed to pulse with an inner energy.
Lena held the stone out to me, and I took it carefully, feeling its warmth spread up my arm.
Kira came back from the valley and sat down beside us, leaning close to see the stone.
Her eyes were wide with curiosity, and she asked Lena what it was.
Lena told us that it was a memory stone from Earth.
She said that if we held it in our hands and focused on our memories, we might be able to see images from our past.
I didn't know what to expect, but I wanted to try it.
So I closed my eyes and held the stone tightly in my hands. At first, there was nothing but darkness behind my eyelids.
The Eternity Paradox
But then, a faint glow began to seep into my vision.
The light grew brighter and brighter until I felt like I was drowning in it.
Suddenly, images flashed through my mind like sparks of electricity.
I saw faces that I didn't recognize, places that I had never been to before.
The images moved so fast that I couldn't make out any details, but they felt familiar somehow.
As if I had seen them before in another life.
The light grew even brighter until it was blinding me.
I felt like my head was going to explode from all the images flooding into it at once. And then, just as suddenly as it had started, everything stopped.
The light disappeared, and I was left sitting there with the memory stone clutched tightly in my hands.
I opened my eyes slowly and looked around at Kira and Lena.
