Kait goes to get the key to the padded cell but the doctor whose name is Amy is out at a meeting and has they key on her. When Amy returns she unlocks the padded cell and frees Alexus. All the nurses apologize and ask Alexus what happened to Hannah. Alexus say she escaped and that if it weren’t for Abby checking her address nobody would have believed anything she was saying. Alexus felt relieved to be out and made sure her coworkers knew who she was after that.

I was caring for a patient named Hannah.
She had a tendency to imprint on personalities.
When she met a new person, she would latch onto them and believe she was that person.
For instance, if she met a doctor named Amy, she would think she was Amy.
She had been undergoing treatment to stop this, but it was taking a long time, and sometimes she would still imitate others.
One day, I was caring for her, and I told her I was Alexus.
She looked at me and said, "I’m Alexus."
I smiled and nodded, not expecting her to latch onto me so quickly.
As the days went by, Hannah continued to believe she was me.
She would tell the other nurses that she was Alexus, but they just laughed and told her that no, she was Hannah.
Sometimes when I came into her room, she would look at me with confusion and say, "Alexus? What are you doing here?"
I would smile and tell her I came to care for her today, and she would nod and accept it.
Even though she thought she was me, we still bonded greatly.
The only thing that bothered me was that she had to be restrained in a straitjacket within a padded room.
It wasn’t harmful, but it did look uncomfortable.
The reason behind it all was for her own safety.
I stood beside her, my fingers working methodically over the straps of her straitjacket.
She watched me intently as I checked each buckle, loosening one that was digging too deep into her shoulder.
The white fabric crinkled under my touch as I explained what I was doing.
I always tried to be as transparent as possible with her, hoping it would help build trust.
Hannah nodded along, mirroring my professional tone when she spoke.
"Yes, Alexus. I understand."
The fluorescent lights overhead cast harsh shadows on the walls of the padded cell, making it look even more sterile than it already was.
I circled around her, checking the straps one last time before tightening them securely.
As I reached for the last strap near her waist, Hannah suddenly spoke up.
"Alexus?"
"Yes?"
I paused, looking up at her curious expression.
"Have you ever wondered what it feels like to wear one of these?"
"No, I haven't," I replied, slightly taken aback by her question.
Hannah tilted her head, a hint of mischief in her eyes.
"Maybe you should try it, just once, to understand me better."
Standing in the padded cell, I adjusted Hannah's straitjacket while considering her question.
Her eyes followed my movements intently as I checked each strap.

I paused my work, hands still on the restraints.
The silence in the cell grew heavy as she waited for my response.
My fingers absently traced the canvas material of the jacket, feeling its rough texture against my fingertips.
Despite my professional instincts warning me otherwise, I found myself drawn into her reasoning.
"Would it really help you feel understood, Hannah?"
Her eyes softened, and she nodded earnestly.
"Yes, Alexus, maybe then you'd see why I feel like I'm you."
