Lady Elaine holds the microphone.
Today in the enchanted garden we're going to play a game that requires very little thinking at all.
It's a spelling game, and it's very easy.
All we have to do is spell words.
We're going to take turns spelling words, and if we spell a word correctly, Queen Sara Saturday is going to throw this orange ball with the purple stripe over our head, and we're going to play catch.
I'm Lady Elaine Fairchilde, and I'm first.
Queen Sara Saturday, would you please hold the ball up high?
Thank you, Queen Sara Saturday.
Now, Dr. Anna, will you please give me my first word?
Yes, of course.
My first word is "friend."
Now I'm going to take it one letter at a time.
F-R-I-E-N-D.
Friend!
The word is correct, so Queen Sara Saturday is going to throw the ball up in the air, and I'm going to play catch.
(Lady Elaine catches the ball)
Oh, that was easy!
Now it's your turn, Daniel Tiger.
What's the first word for Daniel Tiger?
My first word for Daniel Tiger is "tiger."
Will you take it one letter at a time, Daniel Tiger?
T-I…
(Tiger starts to get confused)
Oh dear. You look a little confused.
Let me help you.
T-I-G-E-R.
Tiger!
The word is correct, so Queen Sara Saturday is going to throw the ball up in the air, and you're going to play catch.
(Daniel Tiger catches the ball)
Oh, wonderful!
Now it's Mom Tiger's turn.
What's the first word for Mom Tiger?
My first word for Mom Tiger is "loop."
Will you take it one letter at a time, Mom Tiger?
(Mom Tiger starts to get confused)
Oh dear. You look a little confused.
Let me help you.
L-O-O-P.
Loop! The word is correct, so Queen Sara Saturday is going to throw the ball up in the air, and you're going to play catch.
(Mom Tiger drops the ball)
The Enchanted Garden Spelling Game

(Lady Elaine drops the ball)
Oh dear!
(Daniel Tiger runs over to Lady Elaine)
Don't worry, Mom.
(Daniel Tiger picks up the ball and hands it to Lady Elaine)
Let's try again together.
(Daniel Tiger and Lady Elaine get in position)
Now it's your turn, Queen Sara Saturday.
Would you please throw the ball gently over our heads?
(Queen Sara Saturday tosses the ball)
Here comes the ball!

(Mom Tiger and Daniel Tiger both reach out for the ball)
The Enchanted Garden Spelling Game
(Queen Sara Saturday tosses the ball)
(Daniel Tiger and Lady Elaine catch the ball)

We spelled our words, and we played catch.
Now it's your turn, Lady Elaine.
Lady Elaine: (excitedly) Oh boy!
My next word is "play."

Ball!
(Daniel Tiger catches the ball)
We did it again!
We spelled our words, and we played catch.
Lady Elaine: (excitedly) Now it's my turn again.
My next word is "spell."
S-P-E-L-L.
Spell!(Lady Elaine drops the ball)
Oh dear!
(Daniel Tiger runs over to Lady Elaine)
Don't worry, Mom.
Let's try again together.
(Daniel Tiger and Lady Elaine get in position)
Now it's your turn, Queen Sara Saturday.
Would you please throw the ball gently over our heads again?
Here comes the ball! (Queen Sara Saturday tosses the ball)
(Daniel Tiger and Lady Elaine catch the ball)
Oh, we did it again!
We spelled our words, and we played catch.
Lady Elaine: (excitedly) Now it's time for us to play a game of spelling basketball with Sofia from Flowing Wells High School.
(Sofia walks into the enchanted garden with a microphone like Lady Elaine's)
Sofia: Hi everyone!
I'm Sofia from Flowing Wells High School, and I'm so excited to be here today in the enchanted garden playing a game of spelling basketball with you all.
Lady Elaine: (excitedly) Oh boy!
We love playing games in the enchanted garden.
Sofia: (smiling) Well, this game is very special because it combines two things that are very important to me: spelling and basketball.
Lady Elaine: (curiously) That sounds like a lot of fun.
Can you tell us more about how to play?
Sofia: (smiling) Of course!
To play spelling basketball, we're going to need two teams of players who are good at spelling words and shooting hoops at the same time.
Lady Elaine: (excitedly) That sounds like a challenge!
How do we play?
The Enchanted Garden Spelling Game
Sofia: (excitedly) Well, first we're going to take turns spelling words.
Each player is going to spell a word, and if they spell it correctly, they get to shoot the ball at the hoop.
If they miss the shot, they're out of the game.
If they make it in, they get to keep playing.
We're going to play until there's only one player left, and that player is the winner!
Lady Elaine: (nodding) Oh, that sounds like so much fun!
I love playing basketball and spelling words.
Queen Sara Saturday: (smiling) Me too!
Dr. Anna: (nodding) Yes, I'm excited to play too.
Sofia: (smiling) Great!
Let's get started then.
Lady Elaine, you can go first.
The Enchanted Garden Spelling Game
What's your first word?
Lady Elaine: (smiling) My first word is "garden."
G-A-R-D-E-N.
Garden!
(Lady Elaine shoots the ball)
Oh!
It bounced off the rim.
That was close!
I'll try again.
(Lady Elaine shoots again)
Oh!It went in!
Now it's your turn, Daniel Tiger.
Daniel Tiger: (determined) My first word is "victory."
The Enchanted Garden Spelling Game
Daniel Tiger: (stepping up) Okay!
(Daniel Tiger holds the ball, feeling the familiar texture of the orange ball with its distinct purple stripe)
Victory!
(Daniel Tiger takes a deep breath, aims, and releases the ball)
The ball soars through the air, spinning slowly before swishing through the hoop.
Cheers erupt around me.
But then I notice something.
The ball has landed near a patch of flowers, and I could swear I see letters etched on its surface.
Curious, I walk over to the ball and pick it up.
Daniel Tiger: (puzzled) Hey, everyone, look at this!
Lady Elaine: (leaning in) What is it, Daniel?
Daniel Tiger: There are letters on the ball—it's spelling something.
The Enchanted Garden Spelling Game
Daniel Tiger: (tracing the letters with my finger)
I'm not sure, but it looks like a word.
(T-I-G-G-E-R)
T-I-G-G-E-R.
Lady Elaine: (squinting) Isn't that your name, Daniel?
Daniel Tiger: (nodding) Yes, it is.
Queen Sara Saturday: (excitedly) That's so strange!
I wonder if there's more to this than just a coincidence.
Dr. Anna: (curiously) Yes, let's investigate further.
Maybe there's something special about this enchanted garden that we don't know about yet.
Lady Elaine: (nodding) I agree.
Let's search the garden and see if we can find anything else unusual.
The Enchanted Garden Spelling Game
(Daniel Tiger and Lady Elaine start walking through the enchanted garden, searching for any clues)

We're in the park neighborhood now.
Queen Sara Saturday: (excitedly) And look over there!
Daniel Tiger: (looking around) I think this garden is trying to tell us something.
The Enchanted Garden Spelling Game
Lady Elaine: (nodding) Yes, I agree.
Let's keep looking and see if we can find anything else.
(Lady Elaine and Daniel Tiger continue their search)
Look!
(Daniel Tiger points to a small, shimmering light peeking out from beneath a cluster of flowers)
Over here!
(Daniel Tiger and Lady Elaine walk over to where the light is coming from)
Lady Elaine: (excitedly) It looks like a box!
Daniel Tiger: (crouching down) Let me see if I can open it.
(Daniel Tiger carefully lifts the flowers, revealing a small, ornate box)
Lady Elaine: (gasping) Oh wow!
Look at that!
The Enchanted Garden Spelling Game
Queen Sara Saturday: (approaching) What did you find?
Dr. Anna: (curiously) Yes, what is it?
Lady Elaine: (smiling) It's a box!
Daniel Tiger: (examining the box)
It's locked.
But there's something etched on the side...
(Lady Elaine and Daniel Tiger lean in closer to examine the etching)
Daniel Tiger: (excitedly) It says C-A-T-C-H.
Lady Elaine: (excitedly) That spells catch!
Queen Sara Saturday: (smiling) Yes, it does!
I think this is another part of the puzzle.
Dr. Anna: (nodding) Yes, I agree.
Let's see if we can find the key to unlock it.
(Daniel Tiger and Lady Elaine start searching for the key)
Lady Elaine: (excitedly) Look!
Queen Sara Saturday: (thoughtfully) Catch? That sounds like a clue.
Dr. Anna: (nodding) Yes, maybe it's telling us to catch something or someone.
Lady Elaine: (smiling) Let's open it and see what's inside; maybe it holds the next piece of our mystery.
The Enchanted Garden Spelling Game
Daniel Tiger: (looking around) But what?
Lady Elaine: (looking off into the distance) Wait, what's that?
(Lady Elaine points to a shimmering light in the distance)
Daniel Tiger: (excitedly) Let's go see!
(Daniel Tiger, Lady Elaine, Queen Sara Saturday, and Dr. Anna walk towards the shimmering light)
As they get closer, they notice a teenage girl with magenta lips and gray earrings standing there, holding a microphone.
Alice: (smiling) Hi there!
I'm Alice from Wonderland High.
I've been waiting for you.
Daniel Tiger: (curiously) Waiting for us?
Alice: (nodding) Yes!
I've been watching you from inside my world.
The Enchanted Garden Spelling Game
I saw you playing catch and I thought it was time to introduce myself.
Lady Elaine: (confused) Your world?
Alice: (smiling mischievously) Yes!
You see, Wonderland High is a magical place where anything can happen.
And I have a special game of spelling basketball that I'd love for you to play with me.

The ground has letters on it that will dance and move as you play.
Lady Elaine: (curiously) That sounds like fun!
The Enchanted Garden Spelling Game
How do we play?
Alice: (smiling mischievously) Well, each shot requires you to spell a word correctly.
If you spell the word correctly, the ball will go in and you'll unlock more of the garden's secrets.
Daniel Tiger: (determined) Sounds like a challenge!
Lady Elaine: (nodding) Yes, let's do it!
(Daniel Tiger picks up a brown basketball with purple stripes)
Daniel Tiger: (dribbling the ball)
Okay, I'm ready.

Alice: (smiling) I think you're all ready for the bee!
Remember, it's tomorrow at noon in the enchanted forest.
(Daniel Tiger, Lady Elaine, Queen Sara Saturday, and Dr. Anna nod eagerly)
Daniel Tiger: (determined) We'll be ready.

(Daniel Tiger looks at Lady Elaine and whispers)
Daniel Tiger: (whispering) I'm going to find that map and get the treasure.
Lady Elaine: (smiling) Are you sure you can do it?
Daniel Tiger: (confidently) Yes, I'm sure!
(Daniel Tiger smiles as he watches the crowd cheering and playing catch)
During a break in the game, Daniel Tiger slipped away from the crowd.
He walked over to the prize table, his eyes fixed on the Magnavox Portable DVD Player. He glanced around nervously, making sure no one was watching him.
With a quick movement, he grabbed the DVD player and tucked it under his shirt.
His heart racing, he glanced around again, making sure he hadn't been seen.
Lady Elaine: (whispering) Did you find anything inside it?
Daniel Tiger: (nervously) There's a map, Lady Elaine, with a big red X marked on it!
Lady Elaine: (excitedly) Then we have to follow it before anyone else discovers what we've found!

Daniel Tiger: (smiling) Look, it's Sofia the First!
(Sofia the First walks onto the stage, wearing an Afro hair style and a purple T-shirt)
Sofia the First: (smiling) Hi, everyone!
I'm Sofia the First!
Lady Elaine: (smiling) Hi, Sofia!
What brings you here today?
Sofia the First: (smiling) I heard about this spelling bee and thought it was a great idea!
But I have an even better idea.
Let's play spelling basketball!
Lady Elaine: (curiously) Spelling basketball?
The Enchanted Garden Spelling Game
How does that work?
Sofia the First: (smiling) It's like regular basketball, but instead of just shooting hoops, you have to spell out words too.
Lady Elaine: (excitedly) That sounds like fun!
Where did you get that idea?
Sofia the First: (smiling) From my school, Flowing Wells High.
We play it there all the time.
Lady Elaine: (curiously) Flowing Wells High?
That sounds like a magical place!
Sofia the First: (smiling) It is!
But I'd love to play spelling basketball with you guys too.
Would you like to try?
Lady Elaine: (smiling) Of course!
Let's give it a shot!
(Daniel Tiger watches as Sofia the First pulls out a brown basketball)
Sofia the First: (smiling) Okay, let's start with an easy one.
My word is "adventure."
(Daniel Tiger watches as Sofia the First dribbles the ball)
Sofia the First: (smiling) A-D-V-E-N-T-U-R-E.
(Daniel Tiger cheers as Sofia shoots the ball through the hoop)
Crowd: (cheering) Go Sofia!
Daniel Tiger: (excitedly) That was great!
Now it's my turn!
(Sofia the First passes Daniel Tiger the ball)
Daniel Tiger: (determined) Let's find that treasure together!

Lady Elaine: (grinning) Then that's where we'll head after the game!
