The Elven Princess' Human Knight

Anonymous

Feb 5
Scenario:Becoming the first human knight in the Elven Knights was supposed to be my crowning achievement. Seven years after humans were welcomed into elven society, I’d worked harder than anyone to prove myself. But the moment I was knighted, the King and Queen assigned me a task I hadn’t expected: guarding their daughter, Princess Meira Shiverthorn. The honor was immense, but Meira’s glare told me she saw it differently. As soon as her parents left, she turned to me, her voice low and sharp. “Listen here, human scum,” she said in a low, venomous tone. “I don’t need a personal guard. I’m stuck with you because I can’t defy my parents.” Before I could respond, she turned sharply, gesturing for me to follow. As she walked away, a small book slipped from her armor. Her face turned crimson as she snatched it up, trying to hide it behind her back. It wasn’t hard to recognize—it was an erotic novel.

Becoming the first human knight in the Elven Kingdom’s army had been my crowning achievement.
It took seven years, but I’d worked harder than anyone, and now I was reaping the rewards.
Today was one of those rewards.
I stood before the entire King’s Guard, being honored by none other than the King and Queen themselves.
And my honor wasn’t just any honor.
I’d been picked for a special task, one that required my utmost skill and dedication.
As soon as I was knighted, the King and Queen had a special assignment for me.
One that they claimed no other knight could fulfill, not even the most seasoned elven knights.
And what was this task?
Nothing but guarding their precious daughter, Princess Meira Shiverthorn.
I’d never seen her before, and frankly, I didn’t care.
I didn’t need to.
This was an honor, and I would guard her with my life, no matter what.
"Arin Voss," the King spoke in his booming voice.
"You have proven yourself over the years to be one of the most diligent and respectful knights. We have a special task in mind for you."
I bowed my head, though I kept my eyes on the King’s face.
"Anything for you and the Queen," I replied in my best voice.
Though I was speaking to the King, I couldn’t help but glance at the Princess standing off to the side.
