fierce, and protective. Lila fights alongside Jacob and Zephyr against dark forces seeking to destroy their world. Her bravery inspires Jacob to confront his fears and stand up for what he believes in.
Mr. Jenkins
wise, and kindhearted. Mr. Jenkins knows more about the train's secrets than he reveals initially but guides Jacob on his journey by providing cryptic advice.
I was born to ride trains!
I love trains almost as much as I love dinosaurs.
There’s something magical about them, something that sparks my imagination.
Whenever I see a train, I wish I could be the conductor, in charge of this powerful machine.
I wish I could ride the rails and go wherever I want.
Maybe someday my wishes will come true.
"Jacob Blakely, you’re a lucky boy!
Today, your life is about to change.
You’re about to embark on an adventure unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before."
A loud boom shakes the ground beneath my feet.
The sky darkens and the wind picks up.
A roaring sound fills the air, getting closer and closer.
Suddenly, a giant dragon appears before me.
He’s the most magnificent creature I’ve ever seen.
His scales glisten in the sunlight, shining like gold and bronze.
His wings are powerful, strong enough to create huge gusts of wind whenever he flaps them.
"Hello there, Jacob Blakely," the dragon greets me in a voice that’s both fierce and friendly.
"My name is Zephyr, and I can take on many different forms.
In this case, I’m a dragon.
But with just a thought, I can become a train, ready to ride the rails and take you wherever you want to go."
I am so excited to meet Zephyr.
I’ve always dreamed of riding on a train that’s also a dragon.
I step closer to him, my heart pounding with excitement.
Zephyr is so big and powerful, I can’t believe he’s real.
He lowers his head so that I can pet him, and I reach out a trembling hand to touch his scales.
They’re soft and smooth, like liquid metal.
As I stroke his side, I can feel the same living energy that radiates from him when he’s in his dragon form.
Suddenly, Zephyr begins to shimmer and change.
His massive dragon body folds in on itself, his wings disappearing into his back.
His scales ripple and shift, becoming liquid metal.
Where the dragon once stood, a gleaming locomotive now rests on a set of tracks that seem to have appeared out of nowhere.
The engine is made of the same golden-bronze material as Zephyr’s scales, and steam hisses from its stack in rhythmic puffs.
I reach out a hand to touch the warm metal of Zephyr’s side.
It feels alive, just like his dragon form.
I climb aboard the empty conductor’s cabin and take hold of the controls.
My hands are shaking with excitement as I look around at all the buttons and levers.
"Where to, Jacob?"
I pull the whistle, and Zephyr’s engine roars to life.
I look out the front window of the cabin as we begin to move, watching as the toy store disappears into a mist of magic.
The tracks before us ripple and shimmer, becoming a real set of rails that stretch off into the distance.
The control panel in front of me flickers with strange symbols I’ve never seen before.
They seem to pulse with an otherworldly energy, but somehow, I understand them.
They’re telling me where to go, what route to take.
A holographic map appears in front of me, showing a twisting route through dense jungle terrain.
"Jacob Blakely," a voice calls from behind me.
I turn to see Lila standing in the doorway between the passenger car and the conductor’s cabin.
She’s wearing her warrior armor now, and it gleams like gold in the dim light of the cabin.
She points to a spot on the map where two bones are crossed in an X shape.
"The lost city lies beyond the Valley of Bones," she tells me.
"But we’ll need to move carefully. The Shadow Raptors guard the entrance."
"Shadow Raptors?" I ask, trying to keep my voice steady.
"Yes," Lila replies, her eyes narrowing with determination. "They’re fierce and cunning, but with Zephyr’s help, we might just have a chance."
Zephyr's voice rumbles through the cabin. "I’ve faced them before, Jacob. Together, we can outsmart them."
Sweat drips down my forehead as I guide Zephyr along the twisting tracks.
The dense jungle foliage closes in around us, casting deep shadows.
The cabin is dimly lit, and the control panel’s symbols glow with an eerie light.
I can feel them pulsing faster now, as though we’re getting close to our destination.
Lila stands behind me, her hand on the hilt of her sword.
She peers through the windows on either side of the cabin, watching the treeline for any sign of movement.
Suddenly, the jungle opens up into a barren expanse of sand and rock.
The air is hot and dry, and I can see massive bones scattered across the valley floor.
They’re bleached white by years of sun, and they seem to glow in the fading light of day.
Zephyr’s wheels screech against the rails as I slow him down.
The sound echoes across the valley, and Lila tenses beside me.
A distant screech answers ours, echoing through the valley like a challenge.
I look out through the front window of the cabin, peering into the shadows between the dinosaur bones.
I can just make out dark shapes moving between them—shapes that seem to be watching us. Their eyes glow red in the dim light of dusk, and I know we’re not alone in this valley.
