The Door in Our Living Room
Scenario:A family awakens to the appearance of a strange door in their family room that wasn’t there before.

I was lying on the sofa, watching TV and trying to get my homework done at the same time.
My dad came into the room and stood in the doorway, looking around.
"Guys, I need you to come and see this," he said.
My mom was standing behind him, looking just as confused as he was.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Just come and see," he said.
I put down my pen and paper, and got up off the sofa.
My brother James was sitting on the floor playing with his Legos, but when he heard my dad say 'come and see', he immediately got up and ran into the other room.
My dad was still standing in the doorway between the two rooms.
When I got up off the sofa, I had to walk past him to get to the other room.
As I walked past him, I noticed that he was blocking my view of the other room with his body.
