I was beyond stuffed, but I could eat a whole other meal.
That was the last thing I heard in my mind before I finally pushed the plate away and leaned back in my chair.
It was a strange feeling, like my stomach was stretching and growing just to accommodate more food.
The dish was called "Devourer's Delight," and it was a special of the house at a restaurant I had never seen before.
The waiter had recommended it highly, but I had no idea what I was getting myself into.
At first, it had been amazing.
I had been able to eat far more than usual, and every bite had been absolutely delicious.
But then things had started to get painful.
My stomach had begun to cramp and twist, and I was starting to feel like I might explode at any moment.
The worst part was that it wasn't like normal hunger pangs.
I could feel the emptiness in my stomach, calling out for more food.
It was almost as if my body was changing, adapting to be able to eat even more.
And then came the gas.
Oh god, the gas.
I had never experienced anything like it before.
I could feel it building up inside of me, pressing on my stomach and intestines.
It was like having a balloon inflating inside of me, except instead of air, it was rancid meat.
I grip the edge of the table as another wave of cramps hits me.
I can feel my stomach stretching and growing, trying to accommodate even more food.
The waiter is coming towards me again, a smile plastered on his face.
His uniform is crisp and clean, his hair perfectly styled.
He looks like he just stepped out of a catalog.
I, on the other hand, look like I just ate an entire elephant.
My abdomen felt like a distended balloon on the verge of bursting, each button on my shirt threatening to pop off with every strained breath. I look like I could be 9 months pregnant with triplets.
The waiter sets a menu in front of me, his smile never faltering.
"Would you like some dessert?" he asks, his voice smooth and practiced.
I stare at him, my mouth hanging open in disbelief.
Dessert?
How could he possibly think I could eat anything else?
But then I look down at the menu and my mouth starts to water involuntarily.
The desserts are elaborate and decadent, each one more appealing than the last.
I can feel my stomach growling, calling out for more food. The cramping intensifies as I read each item on the menu, my stomach stretching impossibly further.
It's like my body is trying to tell me something, but I'm not sure what.
And then it happens.
A loud rumble escapes from my lips before I can stop it.
It's so loud that people at other tables turn to stare at me.
My face turns bright red with embarrassment as I clutch the menu tightly in my hands.
The waiter leans in closer, his eyes glinting with an unsettling eagerness, and whispers, "Shall I bring you the chef's special surprise?"
I stare at him, his eyes gleaming with an intensity that makes me shiver.
He nods, as if he can read my mind, and disappears into the kitchen.
A few minutes later, he returns with a massive tray laden with two of everything on the menu.
My stomach growls again, this time even louder than before.
The other diners look on in horror as I grab the nearest plate and start shoveling food into my mouth.
My hands move mechanically, like they're controlled by something else entirely.
I can feel my belly growing larger with each bite, but I can't stop myself.
The waiter watches me with a satisfied smile, his eyes glinting with an unnerving intensity.
As I continue to eat, the cramps grow more intense, my stomach stretching to its limits.
