When I woke up, I was lying on a very soft bed.
The first thing I saw was the ceiling, and it was unfamiliar.
My brain worked hard to figure out where I was, but it was useless because I had no idea how I got there.
The only thing I knew for sure was that this was not my room.
There was a note on the bedside table that caught my attention, and I read it carefully.
"I'll be back by 6 pm. Make yourself at home."
That's all there is to it, one sentence.
I sat down on the edge of the bed and thought about it for a while, but I couldn't come up with any reasonable explanation of what was going on here.
I slowly got up from the bed and took a look around the room.
The window was covered with thick curtains, making it impossible to tell what time of day it was.
I tried to open them, but they were locked with a mechanism I didn't understand.
Moving cautiously through the unfamiliar space, I examined each room methodically.
The apartment was modern and well-furnished, with expensive-looking artwork on the walls and high-end appliances in the kitchen.
In the living room, I found a stack of documents on a glass coffee table.
Among them was a school enrollment form for Honoka Academy with my name on it, along with a class schedule and uniform.
The documents looked official, complete with stamps and signatures.
A digital clock on the wall showed 9:47 AM.
After examining the enrollment papers more closely, I noticed that they listed today's date as my first day at Honoka Academy.
The uniform mentioned in the documents was hanging in the bedroom closet, neatly pressed and folded.
Despite my suspicions, I decided that attending the school might provide some answers about my situation.
I changed into the uniform, which fit perfectly, and then searched for a key to the apartment.
I found it on the kitchen counter, next to a note that read "Have a good day!"
I grabbed the key and headed toward the door.
Before leaving, I took one last look around the apartment, trying to commit every detail to memory.
The door opened onto a bustling Tokyo street - definitely not where I lived yesterday.
I checked the number on the door: 401.
I stepped out, determined to uncover the truth behind this new life.
