I am a student in Edison High School.
I have been doing very well in the school.
There is one person in my mind.
His name is Arthur.
He is also a student in our school.
He is handsome, cute, and funny.
I always had a secret love for him.
But I am a little shy to tell him how I feel.
I don't know whether he will also have feelings for me or not.
If he does, then it will be good for me.
Otherwise, I don't know what I will do.
I always think about him.
When I was in the classroom, I always thought about him how he looks, what would he be doing at that time, and many more things.
I always hoped that he sat beside me in the classroom.
But I knew it was impossible because he always sits in the back while I sit in the front.
I always hoped that he talked to me but didn't know why he never talked to me.
Is it because I am not his type?
Many questions came into my mind when I thought about him.
I always thought about him walking with him on the road, having lunch together, and many more things.
I always hoped that one day my dream will come true one day.
I was standing in the cafeteria line to have my lunch.
I was fiddling with my lunch tray.
My eyes were fixed on the table where Arthur sat with his friends.
They all were laughing at something.
Arthur was sitting in the middle of his friends and laughing at something.
His friends were all making fun of him, but he was laughing at their jokes.
He is a good boy.
I saw Emily standing beside me in the line.
She nudged me forward, and I moved forward in the line.
I got an apple and a sandwich from the counter.
As I took them, my hands trembled, and I nearly dropped them.
The cafeteria looked very big to me as I walked towards my regular seat where I sit every day to have lunch.
But today I had decided to go to Arthur's table to tell him how I felt about him. Each step I took towards his table made my heart beat fast.
Three tables away.
Two tables away.
One table away.
I held my tray tightly in my hands.
I had practiced what to say to him the whole morning, so I should not forget what to say when I would be speaking with him.
Just when I reached his table, he looked up from talking with his friends and saw me standing beside their table.
His bright eyes looked into mine.
"Hey, do you need something?" Arthur asked, his voice friendly but curious.
I swallowed hard, trying to steady my nerves. "Actually, I wanted to talk to you about something important."
His friends exchanged glances, sensing the gravity in my tone, and Arthur nodded. "Sure, let's step outside for a minute."
He got up from his chair and led me through the crowded cafeteria towards the side door, weaving between lunch tables.
My tray was trembling in my hands, so I quickly set it down on an empty table we passed.
As we stepped out into the quiet courtyard, the chatter of the cafeteria faded away, replaced by the rustle of fallen leaves carried by the autumn breeze.
Scattered benches sat beneath the shade of oak trees, their branches stretching towards us like nature's own archways.
Arthur chose a bench away from any other students and sat down, patting the empty space beside him.
I lowered myself onto the cool metal, careful to keep a respectful distance between us.
I took a deep breath, looked him in the eye, and said, "Arthur, I like you."
Arthur's eyes widened slightly at my confession.
For a moment that felt like an eternity, he remained silent, his gaze locked on mine.
My fingers gripped the edge of the bench so tightly my knuckles turned white, bracing myself for the possibility of rejection.
But then his expression softened, and a genuine smile spread across his face.
He shifted closer to me on the bench, closing the careful gap I had left between us.
The sleeve of his jacket brushed against my arm as he turned to face me directly.
His voice was gentle when he spoke.
"I like you too, Ava. I've noticed you for a while now, and I'd like to spend more time together."
