I was walking down the street when I saw her.
She was standing behind the counter at the coffee shop, laughing at something one of the customers said.
Her laugh was captivating, and her smile was even more beautiful.
I found myself wanting to go inside and talk to her, but I was too shy.
I had never been good at talking to people I didn’t know, and I always found myself coming across as reserved or standoffish.
I walked away from the coffee shop, telling myself that it was ridiculous to think about going in there just because I saw a woman I thought was pretty.
There were plenty of pretty women in the world, and I had no right to expect that I would be lucky enough to catch the eye of one of them.
I went about my day, running errands and doing chores.
I found myself thinking about the woman at the coffee shop over and over again, wondering what her name was and if she had a personality that matched her beautiful face.
When it came time for my morning coffee the next day, I found myself wanting to go back to the shop where I had seen her.

I pushed open the door, and the bell above it let out a soft tinkling sound.
I looked around the room, my eyes coming to rest on her as she stood behind the counter.
Her name tag read "Emma," and I found myself smiling at her.
I walked up to the counter, my heart pounding in my chest.
"Hi," I said, trying to sound casual.
"Hi there. What can I get started for you?" she asked, giving me that same beautiful smile from the day before.
"I’ll have a latte, please," I said, trying to keep my voice steady.
She nodded and started making my drink.
I stood there for a few minutes, pretending to look at the pastries they had on display while I waited.
I could hear her talking to another customer, laughing at something they said.
When she was finished with my drink, she handed it to me and smiled again.
