My wife is cheating on me with her coworker, Mark.
And you know what?
I knew about it for months, and I encouraged them to keep doing it.
At first, I was angry when I found out, but then I started to feel excited about it.
I was curious why my wife, who looked cold and uninterested in me, would so eagerly sleep with someone else.
After all, the day before she told me she was going to visit her old friend in another city, but actually she was in bed with Mark.
I remember the night I found out clearly.
It was a Tuesday, and my wife told me she had to work late, so she didn't come home for dinner.
I believed her and didn't call to ask where she was.
But that night it rained very heavily, and the road was blocked, so I had to go to a hotel near our community to wait.
When I was flipping through TV channels in the hotel room, I suddenly heard the sound of a hotel door opening through the thin wall.
It turned out the room next to mine was exactly the one my wife and Mark checked in.
At first, I didn't want to care, but somehow I found myself listening carefully to their movements.
My wife sounded like she was trying to convince Mark of something.
I pressed my ear against the thin hotel wall, and soon I could hear their voices clearly.
My wife was whispering, "Mark, we need to be more careful. If Jason finds out, he will kill me."
Mark laughed, "Don't worry, Sarah. I know how to take care of you."
Then I heard footsteps and the rustle of clothes being taken off.
The bedsprings creaked.
My hands clenched into fists.
I grabbed my phone and opened the voice recorder app.
I held it near the wall, and they didn't notice.
They were too busy with each other.
My wife said, "Mark, I have been feeling sick lately. I think I may be pregnant."
Mark said, "Really? Then we should buy a pregnancy test."
My finger hovered over the stop button on the app.
But then my wife started crying.
Mark asked her why she was crying.
My wife said, "I don't want to be pregnant. I am scared."
Mark comforted her, "Don't worry, Sarah. If you are really pregnant, we will take care of it."
I couldn't hear what they said after that.
I put down my phone and went out of the hotel room quickly before they noticed me.
The next morning at breakfast, my wife acted as if nothing had happened.
She spread jam on her toast and said casually, "Jason, I have a late meeting tonight, so I will go straight to the office after dinner."
I nodded.
I pretended to believe her.
But I saw her phone buzzing with messages on the table.
I glanced at it and saw they were from Mark.
She got up to leave soon after that.
I grabbed my car keys and followed her out of the house.
She drove a silver Honda Civic, and I tailed behind her in my black SUV.
When we got to the main road, she turned towards downtown.
I followed her all the way until she stopped in front of the local pharmacy.
I parked three spaces away from her and watched through the store window as she bought a pregnancy test kit. When she was paying at the cashier, her hands were shaking.
After she came out of the store, she drove away immediately.
Minutes later, Mark's black SUV appeared in front of the store.
He parked two spaces away from where my wife had parked, and he went into the store.
I waited until he came out, holding a small paper bag with the pharmacy's logo on it.
He looked around nervously before getting back into his car.
I decided to follow them.
