"James McGregor, CEO of McGregor Industries has now retired," the news reporter said.
I smiled as I listened to the news.
It was a great day for me.
"James McGregor Sr. is the fatherly type of father," I heard.
I looked up and saw James Sr. standing in front of me.
He was smiling at me.
"Hey Jamie," he said.
"Hey dad."
I replied, "What are you doing here?"
"I just wanted to see if you are ready to take over as the CEO of McGregor Industries," he said.
"Of course, I am ready," I replied.
"I know you are," he said, "you are a very responsible person."
Then he turned serious and said, "But don't forget to have some fun in life. It's not all about work."
"I won't," I replied, "I will do my job but I will also have some fun."
He smiled and said, "That's my boy."
I smiled back at him and said, "Thanks dad."
Then we hugged each other and he turned to leave.
As he turned, he said, "And don't forget I still call you Jamie."
I rolled my eyes and said, "Okay dad."
He laughed and walked away.
The next day, I went to work feeling proud of myself.
I knew that I could run the company successfully and make my parents proud.
As I sat in my office, trying to sort out some papers, my phone rang.
