A heavy mom punishment, she used her son as a car seat
Lily put the little boy in the back seat and covered him with a blanket.
She was about to start the car when the boy said, "Mom, why do I have to sit here? Why can't I sit in the front seat?"
"You're still small. The car seat in the front is not suitable for you. Besides, it's forbidden by the traffic rules to sit in the front row without a car seat."
"I want to sit in the front. I can see the TV better."
"There's no TV in the car, Jack."
The boy was called Jack.
"Mom, you're kidding me. There's a TV here. You know I like cartoons, right? It's so hard to see the TV now."
The boy pointed to the back of the front seat.
There was a screen there, but it was not a TV.
It was a driving recorder and GPS navigator combined.
The screen could show the navigation map and the rear view of the car.
It could also record what happened on the road to avoid traffic disputes.
"OK, OK. I'll turn on the cartoon for you later."
Jack Chen cheered and snuggled into the blanket.
He said, "Mom, you're the best. Can I play a game first? I want to play with this..."
He reached out to touch something on the back of the front seat.
It was the button of the driving recorder.
It could switch the screen between recording and navigation.

"Mom, I want to watch cartoons. I don't want to play games."
Jack insisted.
He tugged at the button of the driving recorder.
Lily sighed and said, "OK, OK. I'll turn on the cartoon for you later."
She turned on the screen to distract Jack.
The boy laughed happily as he watched the cartoon.
The car moved slowly in the traffic jam.
Lily glanced at the road ahead and thought about their future.
She adjusted the rearview mirror so she could see Jack in the back seat.
The uncertainty of the road mirrored the uncertainty in her heart.

Lily parked the car in a quiet alley.
She looked around to make sure no one was watching.
Then she said, "Jack, come here. It's your turn to play."
Jack giggled and climbed into the front seat.
He sat in the driver's seat and pretended to drive.
Lily's heart pounded as she glanced around.
She lifted Jack onto her lap and said, "Mommy's turn."
Jack laughed happily, but soon his laughter stopped.
He squirmed under Lily's weight and said, "Mommy, this is not a game."
"Stay still, Jack," Lily whispered urgently.
She adjusted the seatbelt over them.
Her hands trembled on the steering wheel.

Every second seemed to stretch on forever.
A patrol car passed by slowly.
Jack whispered, "Mom, are we hiding from the police?"
Lily tightened her grip on the wheel and replied softly, "No, sweetheart, we're just playing a secret game."
Jack looked up at her with wide eyes and asked, "Is this like when we played hide and seek with Daddy?"

Lily nodded, her heart racing.
She glanced in the rearview mirror, watching as the patrol car disappeared from view.
The minutes ticked by, but Jack began to squirm on her lap.
"Mommy, can we play a different game?"
His voice was tinged with impatience.
Lily forced a smile and nodded, her eyes darting nervously to the rearview mirror.
The patrol car was gone, but her anxiety lingered.
Jack's restlessness grew, and he started kicking the dashboard lightly.
"Stop it," Lily said sharply, irritation bubbling up inside her.
He pouted, crossing his arms over his chest defiantly.

She took a deep breath, knowing what she had to do next.
"Jack," she said softly, "we're going to play another game."
His eyes lit up with curiosity.
She lifted him onto the driver's seat and settled herself on top of him, adjusting the seatbelt around them both.
Jack giggled at the novelty, but his laughter soon turned into a confused silence.
She whispered for him to stay quiet as she started the engine, glancing nervously at the rearview mirror.
"Mommy, why are we playing this game?" Jack asked, his voice a mix of excitement and confusion.
Lily hesitated, then said, "Because sometimes we have to be brave and clever, just like in the cartoons you love."
Jack nodded slowly, sensing the seriousness in her tone, and whispered, "Okay, Mommy, I'll be brave too."
