"Ms. Thompson, Mr. Blackwood, your room has been arranged."
I glanced at my rival, who was also forced to accept the reality of the hotel room.
The flight was cancelled due to the severe storm, and the hotel was full; the only way out was to accept sharing a room.
"Here's your key."
The front desk clerk handed us our room keys with a smile.
Naturally, I did not want to live with him.
He was my enemy.
But I had no choice but to accept it for the time being.
At least I had to fly back tomorrow.
For one night, I could bear with it.
I took the key from him and walked toward the elevator.
As I reached the door, I sensed a presence behind me.
I turned around and saw him following me closely.
Was he not satisfied with sharing a room, but wanting to share a bed as well?
I gave him a look.
He smiled and said with his eyebrows raised, "Don't worry. I won't bite unless you ask me to."
His teasing tone made my face heat up.
I turned around and entered the elevator.
He followed closely behind me.
We stood in silence on opposite sides.

The elevator arrived, and we entered it.
I stood with my back against the wall, keeping a safe distance from him.
As the door closed, I took a deep breath and turned to face him.
"Let's set some ground rules."
He smirked at me, but I ignored it.
"We stick to our sides of the bed. No unnecessary chatter. And definitely no funny business."
He chuckled and leaned against the wall with his arms crossed.
"Fair enough."
He raised his hands in mock surrender.
We reached the room and entered it.
I dropped my suitcase on the floor and began to unpack.
I put my clothes in the closet, making sure they were neatly arranged.

I glanced at him occasionally, but he was not bothered by this arrangement at all.
He casually tossed his bag onto the other bed and said, "You know, this isn't exactly how I imagined our first night together would be."
I rolled my eyes, trying to ignore the flutter in my chest.
"Let's just get through this night without any drama, okay?"
The CEO's Rival
He shrugged and began flipping through a magazine.
I continued to unpack, trying to focus on the task at hand.
The tension in the room was palpable, but I was determined to ignore it.
I finished unpacking and sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the wall.
He was still flipping through the magazine, seemingly engrossed in it.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
I stood up and opened it.
A maid with a warm smile stood in front of me.
"I heard about your situation," she said kindly, "and managed to find another room for you."
Relief washed over me as I accepted her offer without hesitation.
Ethan raised an eyebrow from his spot on the bed, feigning disappointment.
"Guess our cohabitation ends sooner than expected."
