It was a love triangle that lasted for twelve years.
During which two of them never changed their minds.
The other one always changed her mind but couldn't change her heart.
She and he fell in love soon after entering high school.
She still remembered the first day when she saw him.
She was wandering around the campus during the orientation period and had no idea where the correct location of her class was.
Just as she was trying to figure it out, a bicycle suddenly appeared from nowhere and almost collided with her.
She quickly jumped aside and avoided the collision.
When she turned back, she saw a boy standing not far away, talking to someone else about what had just happened.
She couldn’t help looking at him, feeling that the boy looked a bit familiar.
Soon she realized that the boy was none other than the famous boy, who had won the first place in the national college entrance examination this year on her hot topic board.
The CEO's Obsession
He had been all over the news these days.
She even saw his picture on Weibo, and her friends were all talking about him.
The boy was tall and slender, with a handsome face.
He had a pair of glasses that matched his face perfectly and made him look more gentle.
He was wearing a white shirt and dark blue pants, which looked simple but neat.
He seemed to be talking to another boy about what had just happened.
The other boy was wearing the school’s uniform, so she guessed he must be a senior student here.
The two boys were talking and laughing.
They didn’t look like they were angry about the accident at all.
She watched them for a while, then turned away and continued to find her classroom.
The CEO's Obsession
After entering the classroom, she sat in the last row and couldn’t help looking at her classmates one by one, wondering who would be her deskmate.
At that moment, the boy she had seen earlier appeared at the door of her classroom.
He looked around as if he was finding someone, then walked over to the desk next to hers and sat down.
She was surprised that her deskmate turned out to be none other than the famous boy. After sitting down, he turned to her and said: "I’m sorry for almost hitting you earlier."
She smiled and replied: "It’s okay."
Then she looked away again, not knowing what else to say.
The boy didn’t say anything either, but instead started sorting out his books and pens.
She glanced at him from time to time and noticed that he was wearing a badge on his shirt with the words "Science Club" on it.
She remembered that the news also mentioned that he joined the science club in his high school and won many awards in some competitions related to physics and chemistry.
When she heard that he had won the first place in the national college entrance examination this year, she wasn’t surprised at all because she knew how smart he was from what he had achieved in high school. The bell rang after fifty minutes, indicating that the first class was over.
The boy stood up immediately and walked away without saying anything to her or looking back at her.
She watched him leave as if she were in a trance.
She soon returned to reality when she heard some of her classmates talking about her deskmate behind her back.
"You’re so lucky! Why did he choose you?"
"I heard that he got the first place in the national college entrance examination this year. He must be very smart."
The CEO's Obsession
"I think it’s because you’re so beautiful."
"Did you see how he looked at you? He must be interested in you."
She smiled and said: "It’s nothing. I just met him in the hallway earlier, and he apologized to me."
But she knew that wasn’t the truth.
She felt something when the boy looked at her, and she was sure that he must have felt it too.
She couldn’t explain what it was, but it felt like a sudden spark between them.
After fifty minutes of break, the second class started.
She sat quietly at her desk and tried to focus on her textbook, but her mind kept wandering.
She could still smell the boy’s scent from his empty seat next to hers, which made her feel nervous.
The classroom was quiet for a while except for some occasional whispers between some classmates.
The CEO's Obsession
The typical sounds of a classroom during the break time filled the air—some classmates were eating snacks, some were drinking water, and some were talking to each other. Suddenly, a whirring sound cut through the noise of the classroom.
Everyone stopped talking and looked around to see where it came from.
A small white cylindrical robot rolled into the classroom through the doorway.
It had four wheels underneath its body, and it moved around with precision and speed.
It weaved between desks quickly, passing by many surprised-looking students.
The robot soon reached her desk and stopped there.
Then it extended a mechanical arm from its body with a folded piece of paper on it.
She watched the robot quietly as if she were in a trance, wondering what it was doing here.
Her hands started shaking a bit when she reached out to take the paper from the robot’s arm.
Was it from him?
The CEO's Obsession
She unfolded the paper carefully with her fingers, trying not to show how nervous she was under the curious eyes of her classmates.
The paper had a simple sketch of the robot that delivered it on it, along with some technical drawings and measurements.
The handwriting was neat and precise, which looked familiar to her.
She knew that it must be from him because no one else would send a robot to deliver a note to her.
At the bottom of the paper, there were some words written in a hurry: "Meet me at the Science Club after school."
The robot waited patiently next to her desk as if it were waiting for her response.
It had a few small LED lights blinking on its head, which made it look cute.
After a while, she pressed the paper back into the robot’s mechanical hand.
Then she watched as the robot chirped and wheeled away. The classroom returned to its usual noise level after the robot left.
Some classmates whispered to each other about what had just happened, while others continued eating their snacks or drinking water.

She sat quietly at her desk, trying to process what had just happened.
Through the window of the classroom, she could see a figure standing in the courtyard and looking up at her classroom.
The boy was wearing his glasses and smiling slightly as if he were waiting for something.
She stared back at him through the window, and her heart started beating fast.
She could feel a sudden rush of excitement when she saw him standing there.
He was inviting her to meet him after school, and she knew that she would go.
She was about to nod at him through the window, but before she could do it, a deafening crash cut through the air.
The students around her screamed and rushed to the windows.
She stood up and looked out of the window, and what she saw shocked her.
A massive oak tree had toppled across the courtyard exit, blocking the entire passageway.
Its long branches sprawled across the concrete floor like a giant spider’s legs.
Jason disappeared from her view immediately, and she wondered what happened to him.
Through the window, she could see teachers rushing students away from the windows in every classroom on this floor. The robot that had delivered Jason’s note earlier was sitting quietly next to the door of her classroom.
The CEO's Obsession
Its lights were dimmed as if it were in standby mode.
Rain started pouring down outside again, pelting against the windows of the classroom with loud sounds.
The teacher who was standing in front of the classroom walked over to the window and looked outside for a while.
"Do you think Jason's okay?" one of the students asked, her voice trembling slightly.
"I saw him just before the tree fell," another replied, trying to sound reassuring but failing to hide the worry in his tone.
The CEO's Obsession
The teacher turned back to the class and said, "Everyone, stay calm; we'll get updates soon, but for now, let's focus on staying safe."
The classroom fell silent again, and she looked out of the window.
She could see some movement near the fallen tree, but it was hard to make out what it was.
After a few minutes, she saw workers in yellow raincoats wheeling chainsaws into the courtyard.
They started cutting away at the branches of the fallen tree, slowly clearing a path through the debris.
The rain continued to pour down outside, drumming against the windows of the classroom.
The teacher stood near the window and watched the cleanup effort outside for a while.
Then she turned back to the class and said, "We need to stay put until they clear the area. It's not safe to go out there yet."
She nodded along with everyone else in the classroom, but she couldn't wait.
Not when Jason might be hurt.
Her eyes fell on Emily's pink umbrella propped against her desk.

Emily was sitting at her desk a few rows away from her, talking to some other students who were crying. The robot that had delivered Jason’s note earlier suddenly whirred to life next to the door of her classroom.
Its lights started blinking rapidly as if it were sending a signal to her.
She looked around quickly and saw that everyone in the classroom was watching the cleanup effort outside through their windows.
Without hesitation, she inched toward Emily’s desk while keeping her eyes on the window.
She grabbed the pink umbrella and slipped out of the classroom before the teacher could turn around.
The robot followed her out of the classroom, its wheels squeaking on the wet floor.
The hallway was empty except for a few students who were crying and hugging each other.
She walked quickly down the hallway, trying not to make any noise.
The robot rolled silently behind her, its lights fading as it ran out of battery.
She could hear the sounds of chainsaws and shouting from outside growing louder as she got closer to the side exit.
She ran down three flights of stairs until she reached the side exit.
Muddy water was pooling at her feet when she opened the door, and she could see workers in yellow raincoats rushing past her to get to the fallen tree.
She stepped out into the rain and looked around frantically for Jason.
Through the sheets of rain, she saw him standing near the courtyard exit and helping some workers move branches away from the toppled tree. He was soaked from head to toe but seemed okay.
The CEO's Obsession
Before she could call out to him, he saw her standing there and walked over to her.
He took the pink umbrella from her hand without saying anything and held it over both of their heads.
The robot rolled between them, its lights flickering weakly before dying completely.
"Why did you come out here?" Jason asked, his voice barely audible over the rain.
"I had to make sure you were okay," she replied, her eyes searching his face for any sign of injury.
The CEO's Obsession
He smiled softly and said, "I knew you'd find a way; there's something important I need to tell you."
