Carson and Esteban get married.
Six Months Later
"By the power vested in me by this great nation, I now pronounce you husband and husband. Carson and Esteban, you are now married."
The judge smiles at us, and I take Esteban’s hands in mine.
We face each other, and I mouth the words I should’ve said the minute we walked into this room.
"I love you."
Esteban’s smile grows, and he mouths it back.
"I love you, too."
"I do," the judge says.
"Carson, you may kiss your husband."
I pull Esteban toward me.
His hands go to my waist, and I lower my lips to his.
We kiss lightly, but I can already tell our kisses will never be enough for either of us.
There will always be a need for more with him.
As we part ways, he whispers, "Forever hers."
"I’ll always be hers," I whisper back.
"Tonight, however, you’re all mine."
His eyes heat, and I know right there our first night together will be a night we’ll never forget.
We turn toward our families with smiles on our faces.
My brothers stare at us with tears in their eyes.
Landon comes forward first and hugs us both.
"I’m happy for you," he says through his tears.
Jaxon comes next with a smile on his face.
"You’re officially married?"
I nod my head toward Esteban.
"We are."
"Congratulations, Carson."
He hugs us both again.
"I’m so happy for you."
When we’ve hugged everyone in the room, we walk out into the night air.
The reception is at the venue next door.
We slip away from our families and friends, but not before they all start cheering for us.
I intertwine my fingers with Esteban’s as we walk through the garden of the venue.
It’s dimly lit, and the cool night air hits our skin.
We walk through the garden, and the sounds of laughter and clinking glasses grow fainter until we’re standing beneath an old oak tree.
I lean against its rough bark, pulling Esteban closer to me.
His eyes meet mine, filled with warmth and anticipation.
"Carson, there's something I need to tell you," Esteban says softly, his voice barely above a whisper.
I tilt my head, curiosity piqued. "What is it, love?"
He takes a deep breath, his grip on my hand tightening. "I've been offered a job in Madrid, and it's everything I've ever dreamed of."
I pause, taking a moment to process his words.
The sounds of the reception fade into the background as I consider what this means for us.
Moving to Madrid would be a big change, but it's not something I'd be opposed to.
I look up at Esteban, and he smiles softly.
"I'm happy for you," I say, my voice filled with sincerity.
"But what does this mean for us?"
He takes another deep breath, his eyes searching mine.
"I want you to come with me. I want us to start this new chapter together."
I nod my head, and he pulls me closer.
We stand there for a moment, lost in our own thoughts.
The reception is still going on inside, but we're in our own little bubble.
Finally, Esteban speaks up again.
"Are you ready to go back inside?"
I nod my head, and he takes my hand in his once more.
We walk back through the garden and into the venue where everyone is waiting for us.
My brothers are standing near the bar with drinks in their hands when they see us walk in.
They make their way over to us, and I can tell they're curious about what we were doing outside. "What were you two doing?" Jaxon asks with a grin on his face.
"We were just talking," I tell him honestly.
Landon looks between us, and I can tell he's trying to figure out what's going on.
"Is everything okay?"
I nod my head before looking at Esteban.
He gives me a small nod before I turn back to my brothers.
"We're considering moving to Madrid," I tell them honestly.
Jaxon's eyes widen slightly before he smiles at me.
"That's amazing. You'll love it there."
Landon pats me on the back before smiling at me too.
"I'm happy for you."
I smile at them both before turning back to Esteban.
