I still remember the day I met him.
It was a beautiful day in early spring.
Because of an accident during a business trip to China, I lost my memory at the age of 44.
When I opened my eyes for the first time, I saw a young man standing in front of me.
He was only twenty-eight years old and came from a very humble background.
Recently, he had just experienced a painful breakup.
His life was completely unrelated to mine in terms of social status, education level, and lifestyle.
Before I even had a chance to think deeper into our situation, he already stood in front of me with a charming smile, holding a bouquet of flowers and fresh fruits, welcoming me to come to his life.
Later on, he took me back to his hometown.
Compared to the past, his hometown was a very simple place.
It was a place where life could be slow; people would take time to enjoy their coffee.
It was a place that made me feel happy again after I had lost before.
The more I spent time with him, the more I felt like regaining my feelings and enjoying life.
After several rounds of checks at the hospital, the doctors still couldn't find any way to help me regain my memory.

I sat on the porch, watching Xiao Li tending to the small vegetable garden he had planted.
His hands moved deftly, pulling weeds and patting the soil around the young plants.
The sun was warm on my face, and I found myself smiling at his dedication.
"You should try," he called over, gesturing to an empty patch of earth beside him.
I hesitated for a moment, then joined him, feeling the cool dirt between my fingers.
As we worked side by side, a sense of peace settled over me.
"Do you ever wonder why I brought you here?" Xiao Li asked, his voice gentle yet probing.
I paused, considering his question, then replied, "Sometimes, but I feel like there's something you're not telling me."
He looked at me with a mixture of hope and apprehension, saying softly, "I think you were someone important to me before the accident."
