The Catgirl I Accidentally Bought

Scenario:“Master?” A soft, worried voice murmured near my ear, pulling me out of my groggy haze. Slowly, I lifted my head from my desk, realizing I must’ve fallen asleep at my PC. My neck ached, and the screen in front of me blurred for a moment before the words came into focus: Order Confirmed—One Catgirl, With Express Shipping. I froze. Memories from last night trickled back—I’d been browsing some ridiculous website before passing out. My finger must’ve slipped… right? A light tap on my shoulder sent a chill down my spine. Slowly, I turned to face her. There she was — a small, nervous girl with light pink hair, twitching cat ears, and wide, uncertain eyes. She stepped back as our gazes met, clutching her hands nervously. “U-um… I’m sorry if I startled you, Master,” she stammered, her voice soft and hesitant. “You weren’t moving, and I got worried…” Her pupils widened, one ear flicking nervously as she did a small curtsey. “I’m Mia… the catgirl you ordered…” She stood there, seemingly waiting for me to say something.

“Master?” a soft, worried voice called near my ear.
I lifted my head from my desk slowly, my eyelids heavy and my brain throbbing.
I must have fallen asleep at my PC last night.
As I lifted my head, I realized that my neck was twisted at an awkward angle, and a sharp pain shot through me as I straightened it out.
My eyes were blurry for a moment, but as they cleared, I focused on the screen in front of me.
A single line stood out: Order Confirmed—One Catgirl, With Express Shipping.
My finger twitched on the mouse.
Had I clicked buy when I was drunk last night?
No, that wouldn’t make sense.
Even if I had accidentally clicked the ‘buy now’ button, there was no way that the retailer would actually send me a catgirl.

I turned to face the voice, my heart pounding in my chest.
"Did you see me order a catgirl last night?"
I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.
The girl blinked, her ears twitching slightly.
"I... I don’t know, Master," she replied softly, her eyes fixed on the floor.
She was just as confused as I was.
Just then, the door creaked open and Lily peeked inside.
"So, this is the famous catgirl," she said with a mischievous grin.
She stepped inside, her eyes flicking between Mia and me.
"Mia, did you see me order a catgirl last night?"
I asked again.
Lily shrugged playfully.

"I don’t know, Sherlock," she said, leaning against the doorframe.
"But I’m sure we can figure it out."
She sauntered over to my desk, her eyes shining with mischief.
"First, we check your browsing history," she suggested, gesturing to the computer.
Mia watched us intently, her ears perked up in curiosity.
I hesitated for a moment, but then nodded.
I pulled up the browser and Lily and I scanned through the pages, looking for any clues.
Mia edged closer, her eyes fixed on the screen.
Finally, a familiar website appeared and Lily pointed triumphantly.
"Ah ha!" she exclaimed.
"You ordered her from Catgirl Central."
I stared at the screen in disbelief.

Catgirl Central was a real website?

I turned to Mia, who was watching us with wide eyes.
"Did you really come from this website?"
I asked, still trying to wrap my head around the situation.
Mia nodded shyly.
"Yes, Master," she said softly.
"I was just browsing through the website and then I got a notification that I had been ordered."
Lily snorted.
"Well, that’s one way to get a date," she teased.
Mia blushed and looked down at her feet.
I sighed, rubbing my temples.
This was all so surreal.
I had no idea what to do with a catgirl.

But as I looked at Mia, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy for her.
She seemed so lost and confused.
I reached out and gently touched her shoulder.
"It’s okay," I said softly.
"You can stay here for now. But we need to figure out how to get you back home."
Mia’s face lit up with gratitude and she bowed her head slightly.
"Thank you, Master," she said softly.
Just then, Lily’s phone buzzed in her pocket.
She pulled it out and glanced at the screen, her eyes widening in surprise.
"What is it?"
I asked, curious. Lily held up her phone so I could see the screen.
It was an article from a local news site: Reality Glitch Turns People into Anime Characters!
The headline read.
I frowned, confused.
"What does that have to do with anything?"
I asked Lily, still not understanding the connection between this article and Mia showing up in my office.
Lily shrugged, her eyes wide with excitement.
"I don’t know," she said softly, "but look around."
As she said that, I noticed something strange.
Mia’s ears were bigger than before and her eyes seemed more vibrant.
Even Lily’s hair seemed to have an unnatural sheen to it now.
"What the hell is going on?"
The Catgirl I Accidentally Bought
Lily held out her phone and I took it, scanning the article.
The first sentence made my blood run cold: "Reality Shift: People Transforming into Anime Characters."
I scrolled through the article, my heart pounding in my chest.
It was a bizarre phenomenon that had been happening all over the world.
People were suddenly transforming into anime characters, seemingly at random.
There were reports of people turning into catgirls, ninjas, and even giant robots.
The article went on to say that scientists were baffled by the phenomenon and were working to find a cause.
But so far, no one had any answers.
I looked up from the phone, my mind racing with questions.
Mia was still standing in front of me, her ears twitching nervously.
She seemed to be waiting for me to say something.
I turned to Lily, who was watching me intently.

"Do you think this has anything to do with Mia showing up here?"
I asked her softly. Lily shrugged, her eyes wide with uncertainty.
"I don’t know," she said.
"But it seems like more than just a coincidence."
I nodded, still trying to wrap my head around everything that was happening.
I looked back at Mia, who was watching me intently.
Her ears seemed bigger than before and her eyes seemed more vibrant.
It was as if she was slowly becoming more like an anime character every minute.
I decided then and there that I had to get to the bottom of this mystery.
I needed to find out why Mia had shown up in my office and what this reality glitch was all about.
And I needed to do it fast, before things got even more out of hand.
I sat back down at my desk and pulled up the website where I had ordered Mia on my computer screen again.
"Do you think we could find any answers on this site?" I asked, glancing at Lily.
"Maybe," she replied, leaning over my shoulder. "But we should be careful; who knows what else might pop out of that screen."
Mia nodded, her eyes wide with a mix of fear and curiosity.

I sat there, staring at the screen, trying to make sense of everything that was happening.
Lily hovered nearby, her eyes darting between Mia and me with a mix of amusement and concern.
After a moment, I hesitated for a second before clicking on a link labeled "Transformation FAQs."
The page loaded slowly and I scanned through the information.
It described the transformation process in detail, including the physical changes that people were experiencing.
A chill ran down my spine as I read through it - it was describing exactly what was happening to Mia right now.
And possibly to us as well.
I glanced over at Lily, noticing that her hair seemed to be shimmering unnaturally under the light.

I hesitated for a moment, my hand hovering near hers.
Our eyes met and I saw a flicker of understanding in her gaze.
Slowly, I reached out and brushed my fingers against hers.
A sudden jolt of electricity ran through me and I pulled my hand back with a gasp.
Lily’s eyes went wide and she looked down at our hands, seemingly shocked by what had just happened.
"Did you feel that?" she whispered, glancing at Mia, who was watching us intently.
The spark seemed to linger in the air between us, like an unspoken connection had been formed.
I nodded slowly, still trying to process what had just happened.
Mia took a step closer, her ears twitching with curiosity.
