MidReal Story

The Catgirl I Accidentally Bought

Scenario:“Master?” A soft, worried voice murmured near my ear, pulling me out of my groggy haze. Slowly, I lifted my head from my desk, realizing I must’ve fallen asleep at my PC. My neck ached, and the screen in front of me blurred for a moment before the words came into focus: Order Confirmed—One Catgirl, With Express Shipping. I froze. Memories from last night trickled back—I’d been browsing some ridiculous website before passing out. My finger must’ve slipped… right? A light tap on my shoulder sent a chill down my spine. Slowly, I turned to face her. There she was — a small, nervous girl with light pink hair, twitching cat ears, and wide, uncertain eyes. She stepped back as our gazes met, clutching her hands nervously. “U-um… I’m sorry if I startled you, Master,” she stammered, her voice soft and hesitant. “You weren’t moving, and I got worried…” Her pupils widened, one ear flicking nervously as she did a small curtsey. “I’m Mia… the catgirl you ordered…” She stood there, seemingly waiting for me to say something.

“Master?” a soft, worried voice called near my ear.
I lifted my head from my PC, groggily realizing I must have dozed off.
My neck ached a bit from the odd angle.
The screen blurred for a moment before I focused, and my heart nearly stopped.
“Order Confirmed. One Catgirl, With Express Shipping.”
No, that wasn't right.
I had been browsing last night, but then I fell asleep.
My finger must have slipped.
Right?
A light touch on my shoulder made me freeze.
Slowly, I turned to face her.
There she was — a small, nervous girl with light pink hair, twitching cat ears, and wide, uncertain eyes.
She stepped back as our gazes met, clutching her hands nervously.
“U-um… I’m sorry if I startled you, Master,” she stammered.
“I’m Mia. The catgirl you ordered…”
She curtsied deeply, waiting for my response.
Catgirl?
The site had been a joke, right?
I mean, you could literally order a body pillow with a anime character on it or a full scale replica of a sword from your favorite game or anime, but a real catgirl?
That was crazy!
But there she was … staring at me with big eyes and waiting for my response.
I stared back at her, unsure what to do.
"Umm… Hi Mia," I said finally.
"You're a bit of a shock."
She tilted her head to the side.

"I'm sorry, Master. I didn't mean to startle you," she said.
Her eyes flickered around the room, taking in the mess of clothes, books, and empty food containers.
"Is there anything you need?"
I hesitated, unsure how to respond.
Before I could say anything, the doorbell rang sharply.
Mia's ears perked up at the sound, and I moved to answer it.
Opening the door revealed another catgirl — this one with short black hair and a determined look on her face.
"I'm Lily," she said firmly, stepping inside without waiting for an invitation.
"Mia, you weren't supposed to come alone," Lily said, her voice carrying a hint of reprimand.
Mia glanced down, her ears drooping slightly.
"I-I know, but I thought Master might need me sooner."

Lily let out a soft sigh.
"You know better than to go off on your own. What if something happened?"
Mia nodded, her eyes still downcast.
"I'm sorry, Lily. I won't do it again."
I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, unsure of what to do.
The tension between the two girls was palpable.
Lily turned to me, her eyes narrowing.
"You need to take responsibility for this," she said firmly.
I opened my mouth to respond, but no words came out.
Mia glanced between us, her tail flicking nervously.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang again.
Lily's expression changed from anger to surprise as she walked over and opened the door.
