I love a good mystery.
A whodunit that will baffle and stump me until the very end.
A puzzle to be solved with a "Eureka!" moment when I figure it out before the clues are revealed.
So I’d be a perfect fit for the detective agency my parents own.
Unfortunately, being a ninthgrader, I don’t get to solve real-life crimes just yet.
But today, as I’m waiting for my ride home in front of the school, I come across a miniature version of a puzzle that has all the makings of a great mystery.
Across the street from the parking lot is a candy machine.
Now, you’re probably thinking what’s mysterious about that?
Well, besides being in a shady spot where it’s partially hidden by some bushes, this machine doesn’t look like your average candy machine.
It’s older and looks like it came straight out of the sixties.
And even though it’s been painted over numerous times, you can still see hints of the original red and white underneath the layers of paint.
But none of that stuff caught my attention until now.
What really sparked my curiosity was what I saw a eighthgrader put in the machine earlier today.
