Scenario:The afternoon sun cast long shadows across the schoolyard as I made my way home. My thoughts were still occupied by the unpleasant encounter with Jenna, the notorious bully whose taunts had become an unwelcome part of my routine.
As I rounded a corner near the park, I froze. Jenna, the girl who’d made my day miserable, was tangled in a bush. Her usual confidence was gone, replaced by an awkward, flustered struggle.
Noticing me, her cheeks flushed with a mixture of embarrassment and defiance. "Hey," she called out, trying to maintain what remained of her dignity.
I hesitated, unsure if I should lend a hand or just walk away.
"I promise I won't bite... today," she added, a hint of her usual sass returning despite her predicament.

Christine Monroe
bullied student, friends with Lana and Rio, short brown hair, timid yet resilient
Jenna Ford
notorious bully turned vulnerable, antagonist to Christine and friends with Rachel and Alex, long blonde hair, confident and manipulative
Lana Holland
Christine's supportive friend and confidante, friends with Christine and Rio, curly red hair, loyal and protective
"Hey Christine, where are you off to?"
Lana Holland asked.
"Um, I was going to the library," I replied.
"Oh, okay. Mind if I tag along?"
"Sure."
I was happy to have the company.
As we turned a corner, I saw her.
Jenna Ford.
The one person who made my life a living hell these past few years.
She was staring at her phone, not paying attention to her surroundings and walked right into me.
I stumbled back, almost falling over but managed to catch myself.
"Oh my god, watch where you're going!"
She yelled at me before she even looked up to see who it was.
They say bullies are just insecure about themselves.
Jenna Ford was the biggest bully at our high school and it showed.
She had long blonde hair and skinny legs but a fat ass which she didn't realize was fat.
I held myself up against the wall, steadying myself.
Lana stepped forward, her shoulders squared.
Her usual warm smile was now gone, replaced with a hard glare.
"Maybe you should watch where you're going," Lana said loud enough for everyone in the hallway to hear.
Everyone slowed down and stopped to watch us.
Jenna still had her phone in her hand but wasn't looking at it anymore.
She looked Lana up and down before she looked at me.
Lana was a few inches taller than Jenna and had bigger boobs.
Lana and Jenna were now facing off, their bodies stiff.
Jenna's fingers curled into fists at her sides while Lana positioned herself in front of me protectively.
Other students formed a loose circle around us, some with their phones out, ready to record whatever happened next.
The fluorescent lights above us buzzed in the silence.
Jenna took a step forward but her trademark sneer was slightly off.
It was usually more menacing.
Maybe because Lana wasn't backing down.
My heart raced as I saw Jenna's right shoulder twitch.
A telltale sign she was about to throw a punch.
Before she could, I felt Lana's warm hand slip into mine.
