It’s not him.
I pull her up into a deep kiss.
The taste of her floods my mouth, and I lift my hands to cup her face.
It’s been so long since I’ve had human touch.
I don’t care who she is, or why she’s here in my mother’s place.
I just need this.
I need to remember what it feels like to have someone want me.
To hold me.
To feel like I’m home.
She breaks the kiss and steps back, gasping, staring at me.
I can feel the weight of her gaze like a caress.
It’s been years since I’ve had a woman.
I’m not sure if I still know how to do this, but I want to try.
"Anthony," she whispers.
"Hello."
And then she pulls me down for another kiss.
And I follow her lead, because she seems to know what she’s doing, and I just want to remember this feeling for as long as it lasts.
When she pulls away, I follow her, chasing the taste of her.
"Wait," she says, laughing, pushing on my chest.
"I think we got a little ahead of ourselves."
"Who are you?"
I ask, trying to catch my breath.
"I’m sorry. I don’t know what came over me."
"It’s okay," she says, running a hand over my hair.
