Just as I was starting to doze off, feeling grateful but still a bit guilty for my good fortune, my phone beeped with an incoming email.
I reached over and checked the message.
Suddenly, I was wide awake.
Because the email was from the hotel where I’d just booked a room.
And they were offering me a free upgrade.
To their most luxurious suite.
The one that cost thousands and thousands of dollars per night.
It was the kind of room celebrities and royalty stayed in, and sometimes even had private parties in.
And they were offering it to me.
For free.
I couldn’t believe it!
I quickly typed out an email back, thanking them profusely and accepting their offer.
Then I sent it and waited for their response.
A few minutes later, they emailed me back.
And they told me the suite was mine for the night.
But they also warned me that there might be a few paparazzi hanging around outside.
Because there was a famous celebrity staying in one of the rooms.
I couldn’t believe it!
I quickly typed out an email back, thanking them again and telling them I didn’t mind at all.
Because the truth was, having paparazzi hanging around outside sounded kind of exciting.
