In a world where men can get pregnant. Jaehyun, a 28 year old korean boy, has a 7 year old daughter named mira. Jaehyun's boyfriend siren is in the military but is coming home today. Jaehyun's boyfriend doesn't know he is a dad. Jaehyun is going to surprise him
Jaehyun
He is a 28yearold Korean man living in a world where men can give birth. He is caring, protective, and secretive. Jaehyun has been raising his daughter, Mira, alone, hiding the fact that he is her father from her biological father, Siren, who is in the military. Jaehyun deeply loves Mira and plans to reveal the truth to Siren when he returns home for leave.
Jaehyun's Mother
She is Jaehyun's 60yearold mother living in the countryside. She is supportive, judgmental, and caring. She disapproves of Jaehyun's lifestyle as a single parent but provides financial support for Mira's care. Her relationship with Jaehyun is tense due to differing values but she loves him nonetheless. Her comments about Siren being ungrateful add to the familial tensions within Jaehyun’s life.
Mira
She is a 7yearold girl and Jaehyun's daughter. She is curious, loving, and innocent. Mira looks up to Jaehyun as a father figure and believes he is her biological father. She shares a close bond with him and enjoys their daily routines together. Mira eagerly anticipates Siren's return home for she loves him dearly despite not knowing the complexity of their family dynamics.
I was holding my little princess, Mira, in my arms.
She was 7 years old and had a small face like mine.
She looked exactly like me when I was young.
I stroked her hair and kissed her forehead softly.
"Mira, go to sleep now. My boyfriend will be home tomorrow, okay?"
Mira nodded and closed her eyes.
Jaehyun, 28 years old, Korean boy.
I smiled and hugged her tightly before putting her on the bed.
After changing my clothes, I sat on the couch and took out my phone to write a letter to Siren, my boyfriend.
It had been two years since he went to the military.
Although we lived in the same city and only an hour’s drive away, it was too far for us.
I wrote the letter with tears in my eyes.
"My dear Siren,
I have a lot to tell you when you get back. I hope you can forgive me for keeping it a secret from you for so long.
I am writing this letter while holding our daughter, Mira, in my arms.
Yes, you are a father now!
I got pregnant with your seed three years ago.
I didn’t dare to tell you this because I was afraid that you would be discharged from the army because of this.
So I kept it secret from you until now.
But I am planning to tell you everything when you get back. Please forgive me.
With all my love,
Jaehyun"
I stood at the airport arrival gate, my little princess’s small hand in mine.
She was wearing a cute pink dress and had her hair tied in pigtails.
I was wearing a white dress that made me look like a bride.
We were both excited to see Siren again.
I scanned the crowd for him, my heart beating faster with every passing minute.
Suddenly, Mira shifted uncomfortably beside me, her grip on my hand tightening.
I looked down at her and saw that she was staring at something behind me.
I turned around and saw a group of soldiers in uniform walking towards us.
My heart skipped a beat as I recognized Siren among them.
He was tall and broad-shouldered, his hair cut short in a military style.
He looked so handsome and strong in his uniform.
I waved at him, trying to catch his attention.
He looked up and our eyes met.
His face broke into a wide smile as he recognized me. He walked towards us, his long strides eating up the distance between us.
I couldn’t help but smile back at him, feeling my heart swell with love and excitement.
But just as he was about to reach us, Mira suddenly stiffened beside me.
She let go of my hand and backed away from me, trying to hide behind my legs.
Siren’s smile faltered as he noticed the little girl with me.
He stopped in front of us, confusion etched on his face.
"Jaehyun," he said, his voice filled with uncertainty.
"Who is this?"
I knelt down beside Mira and tried to coax her out from behind my legs.
"Mira," I said softly, "come out and say hello to your daddy."
But Mira shook her head and clung to my legs even tighter. I looked up at Siren, who was still standing there looking confused and uncertain.
"I’m sorry," I said, trying to explain the situation to him.
"Mira is shy around strangers. She’ll warm up to you eventually."
But before I could say anything else, Mira suddenly burst into tears.
She let go of my legs and ran into my arms, burying her face against my thigh.
Siren knelt down, his eyes softening as he reached out to gently touch Mira's shoulder, whispering, "It's okay, I'm here now."
I watch as he kneels down to Mira's eye level, keeping a careful distance while she peeks out from behind my legs.
His voice is soft, gentle, like when he used to calm me during thunderstorms.
"It's okay, sweetie. I'm a very nice guy," he says, slowly extending his hand.
Mira's grip on my pants loosens slightly.
I place my hand on her shoulder, giving her a reassuring squeeze.
She takes a tiny step forward, still holding onto my leg with one hand.
Siren remains perfectly still, waiting patiently as our daughter processes this life-changing moment.
Mira hesitates for a moment, then reaches out to touch his hand, her small fingers wrapping around his.
Siren's eyes flicker to mine, and I can see the mix of emotions: confusion, curiosity, and a hint of hope.
He gently cups Mira's hand, his touch so tender it makes my heart swell.
"Hey, little one," he says softly.
"You're very pretty."
Mira looks up at him with wide eyes, her tears drying on her cheeks.
She studies his face intently, taking in every detail.
Siren continues to hold her gaze, his own eyes filled with wonder.
I watch as recognition slowly dawns on his face.
He glances at me briefly, then back at Mira, his eyes darting between us.
The realization is clear in his expression: they share the same dark eyes, the same sharp nose, and the same mischievous smile.
"Mira," Siren whispers, his voice trembling slightly.
"You look just like your other daddy."
Mira turns to me with wide eyes, confusion written all over her face.
"Daddy?"
I kneel down beside her and pull her into a tight hug.
"Yes, baby girl. This is Daddy Siren. He's your other daddy."
Mira looks up at me with a mix of confusion and curiosity.
"Yes, sweetheart," I whisper, "he's your daddy too."
