I was so excited to be filming at the beach today.
It had been a long time since I had shot here, and I was looking forward to seeing some of the familiar faces.
As I walked towards the set, I noticed a guy swimming in the ocean.
He was quite a distance away, but I could see he was wearing only a speedo.
I couldn’t help but stare at his toned body, especially his butt cheeks as he swam back to the shore.
"Omg, who is that?"
I asked one of the crew members.
"That’s Max. He’s an actor."
"He’s hot!"
I said, still trying to catch my breath.
"He sure is," the crew member replied with a smile on his face.
As I continued to talk to the crew member, I suddenly realized who Max was.
He was the guy I had worked with years ago when I was 11 and he was 13.
We did a film together called ‘Beach Treasure’ and I had carried him on my back in a piggyback ride across the beach.
It was one of my favorite scenes from all the films I had acted in.
"Hey!"
I waved at him as he walked towards me with a big smile on his face.
"Hey Kate," he said as he gave me a hug.
"It’s been a long time."
"Long time indeed," I replied.
"What are you doing here?"
"I’m shooting a film," I replied.
"I’m here to film a scene," he replied.
"Oh, I’m here to film a scene too. Maybe we can do it together?"
I suggested.
"Sure, what did you have in mind?" he asked.
"I was thinking we could recreate the scene from our last film together," I said.
"You mean the piggyback ride?"
"Yes, that’s the one."
He laughed and said, "You think you can still carry me on your back? You were so strong back then, even though you were younger than me."
"Of course I can! Let’s go find a quiet spot away from the crew and get started."
We walked over to a secluded area of the beach, away from the crew and other people.
I turned my back to him and bent slightly at the knees, ready for him to climb onto my back.
He hesitated for a moment, then placed his hands on my shoulders.
"Actually, there's something I need to tell you before we do this," he said, his voice suddenly serious.
I looked at him, puzzled. "What is it, Max?"
He took a deep breath and said, "I'm not just here for the film; I'm here because I wanted to see you again."
I led him to a spot on the beach that was away from the main filming area.
The afternoon sun was shining brightly, and I could feel its warmth on my skin as we positioned ourselves for the shot.
I noticed that some of the crew members had followed us and were now gathered around, their phones in hand, ready to capture this impromptu moment.
I adjusted the strap of my bikini top, making sure everything was secure.
The sand shifted slightly under my feet as I bent my knees and prepared for Max's weight.
"Ready?" I called over my shoulder, remembering how much lighter he was at thirteen.
Max hesitated for a moment, his hands hovering uncertainly near my shoulders.
Then, with a playful grin, he leaped onto my back, and the years between us vanished.
I adjusted my grip on his thighs, feeling the warmth of his skin against mine.
The sound of our laughter mingled with the waves as we began to walk across the sand.
The crew followed at a distance, their phones capturing every moment.
We were halfway through our recreation of the scene when I felt something firm pressing against my lower back through Max's speedo.
I faltered for a moment, but I didn't want to ruin the scene.
"Getting a bit excited there?"
I whispered, trying to keep my voice light as we continued our walk.
Max's breathing grew heavier, and his grip on my shoulders tightened.
I could feel his body tensing against mine as we neared the endpoint of our scene.
"Sorry about that," he murmured, his voice barely audible over the sound of the waves.
"It's just... being here with you again, it brings back so many memories."
I chuckled softly, trying to ease the tension. "Well, let's hope it's just nostalgia and not something else entirely."
After setting Max down, I took a deep breath, still laughing as we finished the scene.
Our eyes met, and for a moment, we just looked at each other.
Max's gaze was intense, and I could sense a shift in his demeanor.
He seemed hesitant, almost nervous, as he spoke.
"Kate, would you like to go on a date with me?"
The question caught me off guard.
I paused, unsure of how to respond.
The crew around us continued to film, oblivious to the sudden change in our interaction.
I glanced out at the ocean, feeling the breeze against my skin.
Then I looked back at Max, considering his proposal.
With a smile, I nodded my agreement.
"Yes, I'd like that."
Max's face lit up with a grin of relief and excitement.
"Great," he said, his voice filled with enthusiasm.
"How about tonight? There's a great restaurant just a few minutes from here."
"Sounds perfect," I replied.
Still catching my breath from our beach scene, I noticed a man in a suit approaching us through the crowd of crew members with their phones.
He looked out of place amidst the casual beach attire and equipment.
As he drew closer, he extended his hand, introducing himself.
"Hello, I'm Director Chen. I hope you don't mind me interrupting."
Max and I exchanged curious glances, then turned back to Director Chen.
"No, not at all," Max replied.
"We were just finishing up a scene."
Director Chen nodded, his eyes scanning the surrounding area.
"I've been filming nearby and happened to catch your... piggyback ride," he said with a hint of amusement in his voice.
"It was quite natural and endearing."
I smiled, feeling a bit self-conscious about the impromptu moment we had just shared.
"Thank you," I said.
"We were trying to recreate a scene from our childhood."
Director Chen's expression turned thoughtful.
"I see. Well, I must say, it was quite captivating. The chemistry between you two was undeniable."
Max and I exchanged another glance, both of us unsure where this conversation was heading.
Director Chen continued, "I'm actually here to film a romantic drama. We're still in the process of casting, and when I saw you two together, I couldn't help but think of the project."
My curiosity piqued, I asked, "What's the project about?"
Director Chen pulled out a business card from his pocket and handed it to us.
"It's called 'Summer's Echo.' It's a story about two childhood friends who reconnect as adults and find themselves falling in love." Max took the business card and examined it briefly before handing it back to Director Chen.
"That sounds interesting," Max said.
"But how does that relate to us?"
Director Chen smiled again.
"Well, as I mentioned earlier, the chemistry between you two is undeniable. And with your shared past, it could add an extra layer of authenticity to the roles."
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the idea but also cautious.
"What exactly are you proposing?"
Director Chen reached into his bag and pulled out two scripts.
"Would you be willing to read through a scene together? Just to see how it feels?"
Max and I exchanged another glance, then nodded in unison.
"Sure," Max said.
"Why not?"
Director Chen handed us each a script excerpt and gestured for us to take our positions on the beach.
Max glanced at the script, then back at me with a playful smirk.
"Looks like we're about to make our big debut," he teased.
I chuckled, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. "Let's hope we don't mess it up in front of our new director."
