Keith Kenmore
He is a previously penniless orphan who secretly inherited a vast fortune from his grandfather. He is resilient, determined, and charismatic. Keith faced immense wealth unexpectedly, which transformed his life and those of his acquaintances. His past included being treated poorly by others due to his circumstances, but he vowed to reclaim his position. After graduating at the top of his class in law, he sets out to exact revenge on those who wronged him, starting with his exgirlfriend’s fiancé.
Helen
She is Keith’s exgirlfriend. She is superficial, materialistic, and manipulative. Her relationship with Keith ended when she found someone wealthier than him. Now engaged to Richard Avery, she is eager to leave her past with Keith behind. However, Keith has other plans. Her fiancé is the son of one of Keith’s law school rivals, making him a target in Keith’s quest for revenge.
Miles
He is Keith’s childhood friend and confidant. He is loyal, witty, and supportive. Miles grew up with Keith and remained a constant presence in his life. Despite their struggles, he stood by Keith, sharing many memorable experiences together. As Keith’s wealth increased, Miles was one of the few people he trusted. He often provided comic relief and emotional support, helping Keith navigate the changes and challenges that came with his new status.
I was a poor penniless orphan when my girlfriend left me for a guy who was wealthier than me.
Little did she know, my life was about to change, and I would become one of the two only multiquadrillionaires in the world.
My grandfather was one of the richest men in the world.
When he died, his wealth was split between two people.
One of them was me.
I was now richer than anyone in my city, maybe even in the whole country.
When I received the news that my girlfriend was now engaged to the other guy, I laughed out loud.
I knew that when her new fiancé found out that I was richer than him, she would come crawling back to me.
But I had already moved on and found someone else.
The new girl was way prettier and hotter than my exgirlfriend.
She was from a wealthy family, but little did she know, I was way richer than her and her family combined.
I had just graduated at the top of my class in law school.
Now I had set my sights on my exgirlfriend’s fiancé, who just happened to be the son of one of my law school rivals.
I settled into my penthouse office and looked out the window at the city below.
My secretary came in with my coffee and placed it on my desk.
I opened up the file that had been left for me by my assistant and began to look over the acquisition reports of my latest venture.
The company I had just bought was a tech company, and I was going to be building a new campus for them.
The blueprints were spread out on my desk, and I was looking over them when Miles walked in.
"Wow, this view is amazing," he said as he whistled.
"I know," I said as I looked up from the blueprints.
Miles walked over to my desk and handed me an invitation.
"What’s this?"
I asked as I took it from him.
"It’s an invitation to a charity gala that is being held next week," he said.
"And why would I want to go to that?"
I asked as I looked at him.
"Because Helen and Richard are going to be there," he said with a smirk on his face. "Oh, they are, are they?"
I asked as I opened up the invitation and looked at it.
"Yes, they are," Miles said as he sat down in one of the chairs in front of my desk.
"Well, then I guess I will have to make an appearance," I said as I smirked at him.
"Oh, this is going to be good," Miles said as he rubbed his hands together.
I opened up my laptop and began to go over some more files that needed my attention.
I had a few startups that I was looking to acquire, and they just happened to be companies that Richard’s company was also looking to buy out.
I smirked as I began to draft up the offers for the companies.
I sat at my mahogany desk and picked up my phone.
I dialed the number of my personal tailor in Milan, Italy.
Giovanni answered on the first ring.
"Good morning, Giovanni," I said as I looked out the floor-to-ceiling windows of my penthouse office.
The city lights twinkled below me as I watched the sun set behind the skyscrapers.
"Good morning, Mr. Kenmore," Giovanni replied in his thick Italian accent.
"I need a new suit for a charity gala next week," I said as I leaned back in my chair.
"Of course, sir. What type of fabric would you like?"
Giovanni asked.
"I want Dormeuil Vanquish II wool," I replied.
"Excellent choice, sir. That is one of our finest wools. What color would you like?"
Giovanni asked.
"I want a deep midnight blue. It should appear black unless it is under direct light," I explained.
"Ah, yes. A classic choice, sir. And what style would you like? Slim fit or classic cut?"
Giovanni asked.
"I want a modern cut with a slim fit through the chest and shoulders, but not too tight. And I want hand-stitched buttonholes and my initials embroidered in silver thread on the inside pocket," I replied.
"Of course, sir. I will have it ready for you by tomorrow morning. Shall I send it to your office or your residence?"
Giovanni asked.
"Send it to my office," I said, glancing at the blueprints again.
"Very well, Mr. Kenmore. Is there anything else you require?" Giovanni asked.
"Yes, actually," I paused, a sly smile forming. "I need a matching tie—something that will make Helen regret ever leaving me."
"Ah, yes, sir. I have just the thing," Giovanni replied with a knowing chuckle.
I hung up the phone and turned my attention to the guest list for the charity gala tomorrow night.
I was going through the list when Miles walked in with a thick folder in his hand.
He dropped into the leather chair across from me and loosened his tie.
"Richard's been making enemies," he said, sliding the folder across my desk.
I opened it and found a stack of photographs showing Richard arguing with members of his company's board of directors.
There were also financial reports detailing some questionable transactions and a list of employees who had recently quit or been fired under suspicious circumstances.
Miles pointed to one name on the list: James Chen, Richard's former chief financial officer.
"He's going to be at the gala tomorrow night," Miles said with a knowing smile.
"He knows where the bodies are buried."
I picked up my phone and dialed my secretary's extension.
"Get me James Chen on the line," I instructed, my voice steady but charged with anticipation.
Miles leaned back, a satisfied grin spreading across his face. "This is going to be one hell of a night."
I nodded, already envisioning the possibilities. "Let's make sure Richard never sees it coming."
