MidReal Story

The Billionaire’s Ex-Wife

Scenario:Three years of marriage ended the day Christopher handed me the divorce agreement. His true love had returned, and I knew where I stood. I walked away gracefully, erasing every trace of myself from his life. I rebuilt my life, reestablishing my career as a doctor, earning respect and admiration from people who valued me. I thought I’d buried the past—until Christopher showed up again. His usually calm, dignified demeanor crumbled as he confronted me, his arms tightening around me. “Isabella,” he demanded, his voice trembling with anger. “Whose child is it?” I met his gaze, defiantly. “Whose child do you think it is?” “Darling,” he said, his voice softening, “if you’ll let me, I want to be the father.” Now, I have a choice to make.

The pain of being divorced by my husband because of his true love coming back has finally subsided.
I was no longer the timid, naive, and ignorant girl I used to be.
I was determined.
I would not let myself be miserable anymore just because the person I loved didn't love me.
I began to focus on my career.
I worked as a doctor and gradually became more experienced.
My reputation in the field of medicine gradually increased.
I was respected by my patients and appreciated by my hospital.
I was satisfied with my life now.
At least, I was no longer miserable.
"Isabella, can you come for a minute?"
The voice of the head of the department suddenly came from the intercom.
I picked up the phone, "Is there anything wrong, Sir?"
The Billionaire’s Ex-Wife
"No, just come and see me."
I put down the phone and walked out of my office.
The hospital's corridor was very wide and long.
The floor was polished to a high shine, and the sound of my heels clicking on the floor echoed in the corridor.
I stopped outside the department head's office and straightened my white coat.
Through the frosted glass, I could see two silhouettes inside.
One of them was my superior, but the other seemed familiar.
I couldn't see their faces clearly, but I could tell that they were both tall men.
The one with his back to me had a straight posture and broad shoulders.
My hand that was about to knock on the door suddenly froze.
The Billionaire’s Ex-Wife
That posture, those shoulders... They looked so familiar.
It was him!
Christopher!
My throat tightened. I didn't know what he was doing here, but I didn't want to see him at all.
I thought about turning around and leaving, but then I remembered that I had worked hard for three years to get where I am now.
I couldn't let him affect me again.
I took a deep breath and knocked twice on the door before pushing it open.
"Come in," my superior said from inside.
I stepped into the office and kept my expression neutral as I greeted him, "Sir."
Christopher turned around when he heard the door open, and his eyes widened when they met mine.

"Isabella," he said, his voice tinged with surprise, "I didn't expect to see you here."
I kept my tone steady, "Neither did I expect to see you in my hospital, Christopher."
He glanced at the department head before speaking, "I came because there's something important I need to tell you."
I sat down in the chair across from him, my eyes fixed on his.
The department head cleared his throat and spoke, "Isabella, Mr. Blaine is here to invest in our hospital's new pediatric wing. It's a twenty-million-dollar project."
My stomach tightened at the mention of the project.
I knew that this was a huge opportunity for our hospital, but I didn't want to have anything to do with Christopher.
I kept my expression neutral as I spoke, "Thank you for your generosity, Mr. Blaine."
Christopher looked at me, his eyes filled with emotion.
"I'm not just doing this for the hospital. I'm doing it because of you."
I felt a lump form in my throat as I realized that he was still trying to manipulate me.
I took a deep breath and stood up, "I need to get back to work."
The department head also stood up, "Yes, Isabella. You're busy with your patients. Mr. Blaine and I will discuss the details of the project later."

I nodded and walked out of the office.
As soon as the door closed behind me, I felt a hand on my arm.
I turned around and saw Christopher standing there, his eyes filled with determination.
"Isabella," he said, his voice low and urgent.
"We need to talk."
I pulled my arm away from him and spoke firmly, "There's nothing left to say, Christopher. We're divorced and we both need to move on with our lives." He looked at me for a moment before nodding.
"Very well," he said.
"But know that I'll always love you."
I watched as he turned and walked back into the department head's office.
I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down.
I couldn't let him affect me anymore.
I had moved on with my life and I needed to focus on my career now.
The pediatric wing was going to be a huge project and I was going to be a part of it.
But I didn't know what role I would play in it yet.
I walked back into my office and sat down at my desk.
I tried to focus on my work but my mind kept wandering back to Christopher.
What was he doing here?
And what did he want from me?
As the day went on, I found myself thinking about him more and more.
I couldn't concentrate on my work and I felt like I was losing control.
The Billionaire’s Ex-Wife
Finally, I decided that I needed to talk to someone about this.
