My name is Asher, I'm a high school bad boy, an alpha with medium black fluffy hair, purple eyes, and a body that's outgrowing my age.
I'm eighteen years old, turning nineteen in a few days.
I was sent to public school because my parents got tired of my ass getting kicked every time I tried to defend a girl.
They said I was too aggressive and got me kicked out of private school, so they sent me and my friends to public school.
Thankfully we all remain friends.
For my birthday, my parents allowed me to get a pet.
I decided on a cat because I don't want any pets that will talk back or disturb me too much.
I want a silent companion that can stay by my side without being too much trouble.
I found an omega store while driving around; it's not common to see them since they're usually kept hidden from the world.
I was shocked to find one out in the open, but I decided to go inside anyway.
When I went inside, I found her.
She has long blonde hair, blue eyes, and she's shyly cute.
I didn't know what to make of it at first, but then I realized she must be a pet.
I've never bought a pet before, so I didn't know how it works.
"Hello," she said softly with a small smile.
"Welcome to our store. How can we help you?"
"Hi," I said back with a small smile as well.
I scanned the store, trying to find the pet section.
The store was dimly lit, and there were shelves filled with different things.
I saw collars and leashes, but no animals in sight.
"I'm looking for a cat," I said, turning back to the girl.
She bit her lip and wrung her hands together.
"Um, I'm not sure if we have any cats available right now," she said nervously.
"Can you check?"
I asked, raising an eyebrow.
She nodded and went to the back of the store.
I followed her, curious about what she was doing.

She opened a door and went inside.
I waited outside, wondering what was going on.
A few minutes later, she came back out with a small box in her hands.
"Here you go," she said, handing me the box.
I took it from her and opened it.
Inside, I found a small black cat with bright green eyes.
It was adorable, but it wasn't what I wanted.
"I asked for a cat," I said, looking up at her. She looked confused for a moment before realizing what I meant.
"Oh, I'm sorry," she said quickly.
"I thought you meant a different kind of cat."
"What do you mean?"
I asked, frowning at her.
"Well, this is an omega store," she explained nervously.
"We don't actually sell animals here."
I stared at her in confusion for a moment before realization dawned on me.
"You're not an employee," I said slowly.
"You're merchandise."
She nodded shyly, looking down at the ground.
"I'm sorry if I confused you," she said softly.
"I didn't mean to."
"It's okay," I said quickly, feeling bad for misunderstanding her.
"So, how does this work?"
I asked curiously. She looked up at me nervously before answering.
"Well, you can choose any omega you want," she explained softly.
"They will be your companion for as long as you want them."
"And what happens if I don't want them anymore?"
I asked curiously.
"You can return them to us," she said softly.
"We will take care of them and find them a new home."
"Okay," I said slowly, thinking about it for a moment.
The Alpha Badboy And His Sweet Omega
"So, how much do they cost?"
"It depends on the omega," she explained softly.
"Some are more expensive than others."
"Okay," I said again, nodding my head.
"Can I see them?"
"Of course," she said softly, leading me to a room in the back.
I looked at the omegas, trying to decide which one I wanted.
They were all different, but they all looked so sad and scared.
I didn't want to make any of them unhappy, so I decided to choose the one that looked the least upset.
"Okay," she said softly, leading me back to the front of the store.
"She's yours now," she said softly, handing me a leash.
"Take care of her."
The Alpha Badboy And His Sweet Omega
"I will," I said softly, taking the leash from her hand.
I led Kayla out of the store and into my car.
The drive home was long and silent.
I couldn't believe I had just bought a person instead of a cat.
When we got home, I led Kayla inside and into my living room.
She stood awkwardly by the couch while I went to get us some drinks.
When I came back, she was still standing there, looking unsure of what to do. "Sit down," I said softly, gesturing to the couch.
She nodded and sat down next to me.
I handed her a glass of water and took a sip of mine.
We sat there in silence for a moment before I realized how uncomfortable it was.
I grabbed the remote and turned on the TV.
A Korean drama was playing - some romantic show about a CEO and his secretary.
Kayla's entire demeanor changed as she watched it.
Her blue eyes were fixed on the screen, and she leaned forward slightly as if she couldn't get enough of it.
I watched her, realizing that maybe, just maybe, this unexpected companion was exactly what I needed.

After an hour of watching, I noticed her shoulders had relaxed slightly.
I remembered the chocolate bar in my jacket pocket - a treat I'd bought earlier at the gas station.
Standing up, I walked to where my jacket was and reached into the pocket to retrieve it.
It was a dark chocolate bar, one of my favorites.
I unwrapped it slowly, the sound making Kayla tense again.
The Alpha Badboy And His Sweet Omega
She looked over at me cautiously as I broke off a piece.
Holding it out to her, I sat back down on the couch, closer this time.
She eyed the chocolate like a wild animal that had just been offered food for the first time in days.
Her fingers twisted nervously in her lap as she stared at the offered chocolate.
I watched her hesitate, still holding out the piece of chocolate.
Her eyes darted between my face and the offered treat, shoulders tense.
Moving slowly, I patted my thigh with my free hand, like you would to a nervous cat.
She inched forward on the couch, still keeping a safe distance from me.
The Korean drama continued playing in the background as I kept my movements deliberate and non-threatening.
The Alpha Badboy And His Sweet Omega
When she didn't immediately retreat, I patted my lap again, this time holding the chocolate closer to her.
Her fingers finally reached out, and as she took the chocolate, I knew this was the first step towards something neither of us could have anticipated.
I kept my hand steady, holding the chocolate while watching her hesitant movements.
The drama's soft dialogue filled the silence as she inched closer on the couch.
After taking the chocolate, she nibbled it slowly, her shoulders gradually relaxing.
I continued patting my thigh, maintaining a gentle rhythm like coaxing a timid animal.
Her eyes darted between my lap and the TV screen, weighing her options.
When a romantic scene played, she shifted slightly closer.
Finally, after several minutes of patient waiting, she carefully lowered her head onto my thigh.
"Why did you choose me?" she whispered, her voice barely audible over the TV.
"I don't know," I replied honestly, "but something about you felt... right."
The Alpha Badboy And His Sweet Omega
While she rested her head in my lap, I noticed her blonde hair splayed across my jeans.
It was soft and silky, a stark contrast to the rough denim.
The Korean drama continued playing in the background, but my attention shifted from the screen to the girl resting against me.
My hand hovered uncertainly before I slowly reached toward her head.
She tensed slightly but didn't move away.
Gently, I brushed my fingers against her ear, feeling the delicate curve of it.
When she didn't protest, I continued rubbing small circles with my thumb, watching as her shoulders gradually relaxed further.
"I never thought I'd feel safe again," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.
"You are safe here," I assured her, my voice steady and calm.
"Do you think they'll find me?" she asked, a hint of fear creeping back into her tone.
The Alpha Badboy And His Sweet Omega
I hear the garage door opening and feel Kayla stiffen against my lap.
Keys jingle at the front door as my parents and sister return from shopping.
Kayla tries to sit up but I keep her in place with a firm hand on her shoulder, continuing to stroke her hair.
The door swings open and my 12-year-old sister Emma bounces in first, stopping mid-step when she spots us on the couch.
My parents follow, grocery bags in hand, and freeze.
The Alpha Badboy And His Sweet Omega
Mom drops a bag, spilling apples across the floor.
"Asher," Dad says slowly, "what is this?"
"This," I replied, meeting their eyes with quiet resolve, "is where she belongs now."
I keep my hand firmly on Kayla's shoulder as Dad's face reddens with anger.
Mom picks up the scattered apples, shooting disapproving glances our way.
"I went to the pet shop," I explain calmly, "but I must have gotten the wrong address. It was an omega store instead."
I pause, letting the weight of my words sink in.
"I couldn't leave her there once I realized what it was."
Before anyone can respond, Emma squeals with excitement and launches herself at the couch.
Kayla yelps as my sister lands on her, wrapping her in a tight hug.
I try to pull Emma off but she clings tighter.
"I've always wanted an omega friend!" she exclaims, her voice filled with glee.
Dad's anger falters, replaced by a mix of confusion and reluctant understanding.
The Alpha Badboy And His Sweet Omega
The tension eases as Emma finally releases Kayla from her tight hug.
Dad sinks into his armchair, a defeated look on his face.
Mom quietly picks up the rest of the groceries.
The Korean drama ends and a new one starts playing.
Emma bounces up excitedly, clapping her hands together.
"Asher, can we have snacks?"
I nod and she dashes to the grocery bags that Mom had dropped earlier.
She rummages through them until she finds what she's looking for—a large bag of chips.
I keep my hand on Kayla's shoulder, feeling her gradually relax as Emma's excitement shifts away from her.
Emma tears open the bag, creating a sharp crinkling sound that makes Kayla flinch slightly against my leg.
