We all know Bluey and Bingo adore playing dress-up. And two characters they especially love morphing into are “The Grannies”: Janet and Rita! With the help of some blankets, specs and a handy claw arm, the Grannies pop up every now and then to cause mayhem and keep the young ‘uns (like Mum and Dad) on their toes.
They’re occasionally joined by Madge (Chilli, in Trains), Gladys (Muffin, in Granny Mobile) and by a real-life Grouchy Granny (in Granny Mobile). Here’s what you need to know about the show’s wiliest women:
Bluey Heeler
female. She is a young Blue Heeler dog living with her family. She is imaginative, playful, and energetic. Bluey loves to play dressup and create adventures with her sister Bingo. She often takes on the role of "Granny" in their games, using blankets and props to create a disguise. Her antics often involve mischief and playtime with her family members.
Bandit Heeler
male. He is Bluey's father and a laidback family member. He is supportive, playful, and humorous. Bandit often participates in his daughters' games, even when they involve chaos or messes. He enjoys spending time with his family and engaging in playful activities that bring them joy.
Bingo Heeler
female. She is Bluey's younger sister and a fellow adventurer. She is curious, lively, and affectionate. Bingo enjoys playing alongside Bluey, often taking on roles in their imaginative games. She looks up to Bluey as a leader and partner in play, sharing in the fun and mischief they create together.
Dress-up is one of our favourite games, and I have to say, my little sister Bingo and I are particularly good at it.
We like to think that two characters we invent are especially clever: Janet and Rita, aka The Grannies.
With the help of a couple of blankets for their costumes, some specs and a handy claw arm, The Grannies pop up all over the place to keep the young ‘uns (like Mum and Dad) on their toes.
They’re occasionally joined by Gladys (Muffin in Trains), Madge (Chilli in Trains), and by a real-life Grouchy Granny (in Granny Mobile).
Here’s what you need to know about the wiliest women on the block:
The Grannies
* Love a good heist (stealing all the toys from the kids’ toy room)
* Are notorious for their messy cooking (smashing pots and pans in the kitchen)
* Enjoy a bit of vandalism (drawing on the fence or making a mess with chalk)
* Like to test their strength (lifting heavy rocks or seeing who can do the most push-ups)
* Are notorious tricksters (hiding behind trees or jumping out from behind bushes to scare unsuspecting family members)
* Are masters of disguise (using different costumes and props to create new characters)
* Have a soft spot for Bandit (he’s always getting special treatment from The Grannies)
