It's a fact all Care Bears are girls.
It's also a fact we all wear diapers!
We do it so it helps regulate and control our powers so they don't leak out of us.
We aren't potty trained either, we are only allowed to be potty trained when we graduate from Elementary School.
Once we graduate, we have to go to the Potty Training Academy for the whole summer, then once summer is over, we get to start Middle School.
It's been like this for Care Bears in Care-A-Lot for generations upon generations.
It's a tradition that will never change.
It was a sunny day in CareALot on a Tuesday morning.
My name is Tenderheart Bear and I am a Care Bear.
I was sitting on the couch watching TV in my home, which is called a Cloud House.
All the Care Bears that live in CareALot have their own Cloud House because we each have our own special symbol on our belly that tells what our special power is.
Mine is a heart because I am very caring and loving towards others.
I love to play games, go on adventures, and just hang out with my friends.
I was watching a game show when suddenly there was a knock at my door.
I opened it up and it was my best friends, Friend Bear and Wish Bear.
The Adventures of Tenderheart Bear
"Hey guys, come on in!"
I said as I stepped aside to let them in.
They walked in and sat down on my fluffy couch.
I went into my kitchen and grabbed some rainbow juice boxes out of my cloud-shaped fridge.
I brought them back out and handed one to each of my friends.
I sat down next to Friend Bear and we all watched the game show together.
The host was a man with a big smile on his face.
He was wearing a suit that looked like it was made of clouds.
He was standing in front of a big screen that showed different Care Bears belly badges.
"Welcome back to the Care Bear Challenge! In this round, we are going to play 'Belly Badge Match-Up'! Our contestants are going to try to match the belly badge with the power it gives you. Let's get started!"
The Adventures of Tenderheart Bear
The first badge that came up was a shooting star.
Friend Bear leaned forward in her seat and shouted at the TV, "That's for making wishes!"
Wish Bear giggled at Friend Bear's enthusiasm and accidentally spilled some juice on her diaper.
I got up and got her a sparkly cloud-wipe so she could clean herself up. "That is correct! The shooting star is for making wishes. Now let's see who else can match this belly badge with its power."
We all kept watching the game show and started keeping score of who could guess the most correct matches.
We were making little tally marks on a floating notepad that was hovering above my coffee table.
When Friend Bear got one right, she would jump up from the couch and do a victory dance.
She did this every time she got one right, but she didn't get them all right, Wish Bear got some too!
When I got one right, I would just smile and give myself a thumbs up.
After we were done watching the game show, we decided to play our own version of 'Belly Badge Match-Up'.
We made up our own belly badges and powers, and then we took turns asking each other to match them.
When we were done playing, I pulled out my sparkly cloud-diary.
It was covered in heart stickers because hearts are my favorite.
On the front of it was written "4th Grade Memories" in sparkly purple letters.
Friend Bear saw it and asked me what it was for.
I told her that I was going to use it to write down all the fun things we do before we graduate from Elementary School.
Wish Bear and Friend Bear both looked at me with a sad look on their face.
They stopped playing and sprawled out on my fluffy carpet.
I did the same, and our diapers crinkled as we got comfortable.
Friend Bear said that her older sister told her that fifth grade is a lot harder than fourth grade. Wish Bear said she was worried that she would get a stricter teacher next year.
The Adventures of Tenderheart Bear
I started doodling little bears in the margins of my diary while they talked about what they thought fifth grade would be like.
I said that I hoped we would still have recess together so we could play outside with each other.
Suddenly I felt my diaper get wet, so I got up and went into my bedroom to change it.
I opened up my rainbow-painted drawer that was full of diapers and picked out a pink one with yellow hearts on it.
As I returned to the living room, I realized that no matter how much things might change next year, we'd always have each other.
The Adventures of Tenderheart Bear
While changing positions on the carpet, my diary fell open and something flutters out.
Friend Bear catches it - a weathered piece of paper with faded rainbow ink.
"Look!" she squeals, smoothing it flat.
It's a detailed map of Care-A-Lot, with dotted lines and tiny heart symbols leading to an X marked "Special Care Bear Treasure."
Wish Bear points to familiar landmarks: the Rainbow River, Cloud Castle, and Star Bridge.
The Adventures of Tenderheart Bear
My diaper crinkles as I lean closer, noticing strange symbols along the path I've never seen before.
Sitting cross-legged on my carpet, I trace the dotted path with my finger while Friend Bear and Wish Bear lean in close.
The map shows our first destination is behind Rainbow River Falls.
I grab my heart-shaped backpack and start packing essentials: cloud-wipes, spare diapers, and rainbow juice boxes.
Friend Bear suggests we bring her compass, while Wish Bear grabs her star-shaped magnifying glass to help decode the symbols.
After double-checking our supplies and adjusting our slightly wet diapers, we head outside.
The Adventures of Tenderheart Bear
The adventure to uncover the Special Care Bear Treasure had officially begun.
