I was born Genny Hart, the daughter of Stu and Helen Hart.
My brother Owen Hart is my twin, and we are known as the Blue Blazer Twins.
We are wrestlers, just like our older brother Bret "The Hitman" Hart, who is a legend in the WWE Hall of Fame.
Bret is our older brother, and we have several sisters and brothers who are also wrestlers: Diana Hart, Georgia Hart, Elizabeth Hart, Allison Hart, Jimmy Hart, Bruce Hart, Smith Hart, Dean Hart, Wayne Hart, Keith Hart, and Ross Hart.
My dad's good friends are Fritz Von Erich and his wife Doris; they have been friends with my family for years.
Fritz and Doris have sons who are also wrestlers: Mike Von Erich, Kevin Von Erich, David Von Erich, Chris Von Erich, and Jack Jr. Von Erich.
One of their sons caught my eye: Texas Tornado Kerry Von Erich.
I met him through my brother Dean one day while they were training for the wrestling ring.
Kerry was handsome with blond hair and blue eyes; he had a great body that was built for a wrestler.
I couldn’t help but notice him as he trained with my brother Dean.
I couldn’t take my eyes off him as he flexed his muscles while he was lifting weights.
My heart was beating so fast as I got up the courage to walk across the weight room toward Kerry.
The clanking of weights and murmur of other wrestlers faded into background noise.
I paused near his bench, pretending to adjust my gym bag while watching him complete another set of bicep curls.
When he set the weights down and reached for his water bottle, I cleared my throat.
"Those are some serious reps you're doing there," I said, my voice steadier than I expected.
Kerry turned, wiping sweat from his forehead with a towel.
His blue eyes met mine, and a smile spread across his face.
My heart skipped a beat as he spoke.
"Thanks, just trying to stay in shape for the next match."
He set his water bottle down and leaned back on the bench, his muscles still pumped from the workout.
I fidgeted with my blue wrestling gear, my mind racing with what to say next.
The familiar scent of chalk and metal filled my nose, and I could hear the clink of weights being racked in the background.
The overhead fans hummed above us, creating a gentle breeze that rustled Kerry's blond hair.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves.
"So, what do you think about going out sometime?"
I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
Kerry's smile widened, and he stood up from the bench.
"I'd love to," he said, wiping his face with the towel again.
"When were you thinking?"
I shrugged, trying to play it cool.
"Whenever you're free," I replied.
Kerry nodded, racking his weights and picking up his gym bag.
"How about tomorrow night?" he suggested.
"Sure," I managed to say, trying to keep my excitement in check.
"What time?"
Kerry slung his bag over his shoulder and grinned at me.
"I'll pick you up after practice," he said.
"Sounds good," I replied, leaning against the wall as he walked past me to pack his bag.
I watched him pack his gear, my fingers fidgeting with the zipper of my Blue Blazer jacket.
The sound of clanking weights and grunts of effort filled the room, and I could smell the familiar scent of leather wrestling mats and metal equipment.
"Hey, there's a good diner near the training center," Kerry said, turning to face me.
"We can grab dinner there."
I nodded, trying to focus on his words instead of the way his muscles flexed as he moved.
"Okay," I replied, my voice steady despite the butterflies in my stomach.
Kerry pulled out a pen and scribbled something on a scrap of paper torn from his workout log.
"My number," he said, handing it to me.
"Just in case."
I took the paper from him, our fingers brushing briefly.
His handwriting was surprisingly neat for someone who spent most of his time in the ring. I stuffed the paper into my jacket pocket, my hands trembling slightly from both excitement and nerves.
"Thanks," I managed to say, trying to keep my voice steady.
Kerry smiled again and slung his bag over his shoulder.
As he walked away, I realized this was the beginning of something I had never expected.
Back in my bedroom, I sit cross-legged on my bed, staring at Kerry's number scrawled on the workout log paper.
My hands tremble as I input the digits into my phone, double and triple-checking each number.
The paper is already creased from how many times I've unfolded and refolded it since leaving the gym.
I type out a simple message: "Hey, it's Genny from the gym. Still on for tomorrow?"
The three dots appear immediately after I hit send.
Kerry's response comes quickly: "Wouldn't miss it, baby. Pick you up at 7?"
I grin at the screen, feeling a warmth spread through my chest.
"Perfect," I reply, trying to keep my cool even though I'm practically bouncing on the bed.
"Great," he texts back. "I've got something special planned."
