the girl who couldn't set up her tent, fiancée to Ethan, petite with curly blonde hair, adventurous and optimistic.
I remember the first time I saw her.
It was five years ago this week.
I was on a camping trip with my best friend Mark, at his family's lake house.
We were nineteen and had gone to the state park down the road to get away from his family for the day.
As we walked back to our campsite in the early evening, I saw her.
She was small, maybe 5'2", with the most beautiful curly blonde hair I'd ever seen.
She was wearing a yellow tank top and shorts, and was clearly frustrated.
Her tent was lying on the ground, and she was standing over it, kicking it angrily.
I looked at Mark and raised an eyebrow.
"Look at that," I said.
"Someone needs help."
Mark followed my gaze and grinned.
"Yeah, and maybe we can get some of that."
He winked at me.
