Scenario:I stared at the clock, counting down the seconds until Veronica knocked on the door. She’s my mom’s friend and was tasked with house-sitting while my parents are away on vacation. Apparently, they didn’t trust me to be alone at the house.
Finally, I heard the knock. Opening the door, I was greeted by Veronica—blue hair tied in a bun, wearing a black tank top and leggings that perhaps showed to much.
"Heyyyy! Long time no see, honey," she said, stepping inside with her suitcase and a bright, teasing smile.
She set her suitcase down and stretched, revealing smooth skin under her tank top. "Looks like we’ll be alone together for a while," she added with a wink.
Her gaze shifted toward the backyard. "I heard you have a pool... Maybe I'll let you watch as I swim with my bikini on."

My parents are going out of town for a few days.
They trusted their friend Veronica to keep an eye on me while they're away.
I'm not sure why they can't just trust me to take care of myself, but I guess it's because I'm still young.
I don't really mind though.
Veronica is cool.
She's young and modern, so she won't be breathing down my neck or trying to hinder my freedom like my parents would.
I watched from the top of the stairs as Veronica unpacked her things in the guest room.
She moved slowly, deliberately, like she was trying to make sure everything was perfect.
Her hair was a bright blue and tied in a bun on top of her head, and her tank top showed off smooth skin.
I felt my stomach growling and realized it was almost dinner time.
I should probably order something.
I walked to the kitchen and pulled my phone out, scrolling through delivery apps.
I kept glancing at the hallway, wondering why Veronica hadn't come down yet.
Maybe she didn't realize I was home?
It was getting dark outside and I was getting hungry.
I needed to order something soon.
The silence started to feel awkward, so I decided to go upstairs and let her know I was home.
I cleared my throat a few times as I approached her doorway, trying not to be too loud.
She had her back to me as she hung up a silky robe in the closet.
"Hey, um, I was thinking about ordering pizza for dinner," I said. My voice sounded smaller than I wanted it to.
She paused for a second, then turned around slowly.
That smile was back on her face again.
She walked over to me and stopped uncomfortably close, looking up at me with those blue eyes.
I took a small step back, but she followed me.
The guest room was narrow, so there wasn't much space between us.
She reached up and brushed a strand of hair out of my face, her fingers lingering near my cheek.
The air felt thick and heavy around us.
She reached for her phone in the pocket of her leggings, her arm grazing mine as she did.
Her tank top had slipped down on one shoulder, revealing smooth skin.
She dialed the pizza place and held the phone to her ear, keeping her eyes locked on mine.
"Hello? Yeah, I'd like to order a large pepperoni pizza with extra cheese... And can you make sure it's extra crispy?... Okay, thanks... Yeah, that'll be fine... 30 minutes? Great."
She hung up the phone and placed it on the dresser behind me.
She didn't move away from me though.
Her voice dropped to a whisper, "Now, let's talk about the real reason I'm here."
