Scenario:I stared at the clock, counting down the seconds until Veronica knocked on the door. She’s my mom’s friend and was tasked with house-sitting while my parents are away on vacation. Apparently, they didn’t trust me to be alone at the house.
Finally, I heard the knock. Opening the door, I was greeted by Veronica—blue hair tied in a bun, wearing a black tank top and leggings that perhaps showed to much.
"Heyyyy! Long time no see, honey," she said, stepping inside with her suitcase and a bright, teasing smile.
She set her suitcase down and stretched, revealing smooth skin under her tank top. "Looks like we’ll be alone together for a while," she added with a wink.
Her gaze shifted toward the backyard. "I heard you have a pool... Maybe I'll let you watch as I swim with my bikini on."

My parents are going out of town for a few days.
They're leaving me in the care of their friend, Veronica.
I've met her a few times.
She's really nice and beautiful.
Her hair is an awesome shade of blue and she has a killer body.
"Will you be okay, sweetie?" my mom asks as she gives me one last hug before they leave.
"Yes, mom."
I hug her back and give my dad a hug as well.
"I'm going to miss you," my dad says as he kisses the top of my head.
"I'm going to miss you too."
I watch as they get into their car and drive away.
They're headed to the airport.
They're going to Vegas for a few days.
They've been planning this trip for a few weeks now.
Veronica waves at me from the porch.
She's been here since this morning.
Dad dropped me off on his way home from work.
I turn back to the house and head back inside the house.
"Can I get you something to drink?"
I ask Veronica as I enter the kitchen.
"No, I'm fine."
She smiles and sits down at the kitchen table.
I grab a glass of ice and some juice from the fridge before sitting down across from her.
"How old are you again?"
"Nineteen," I say, taking a sip of my juice.
She watches me intently as I drink.
Her eyes scan my face, lingering on my lips as I take another sip.
"How was your birthday?" she asks.
"It was good. We went to dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant."
"Just the three of you?"
"Yes."
I take another sip of my juice.
"Did you get any special presents?"
She leans forward, her tank top slipping lower on her chest.
"My parents got me a silver bracelet."
I lift my wrist to show her the bracelet.
She reaches across the table and takes my wrist in her hand, examining the bracelet up close.
Her fingers brush against my skin as she holds my wrist and it sends a shiver through me.
I pull my wrist back and take another sip of my juice, trying to calm my racing heart.
She leans back in her chair and stretches, raising her arms above her head.
Her tank top rides up even higher as she stretches.
The window behind her lets the sunlight stream in and highlights her smooth skin.
I watch as the sunbeams sparkle on the water's surface in the backyard pool.
Veronica notices me looking out the window and turns to look out at the pool as well.
"Looks like the weather is perfect for swimming."
She stands up from the table and walks to the sliding glass doors, pressing her palm against the glass.
"Want to come for a swim with me?" she asks as she turns back to face me.
I hesitate for a moment before nodding.
She smiles and heads upstairs to change while I stay sitting at the kitchen table, my juice forgotten.
I watch as the afternoon breeze ripples the pool's surface.
My hands fidget with the silver bracelet on my wrist.
I hear drawers opening and closing upstairs as Veronica gets ready to swim.
Footsteps approach from upstairs and she comes back down wearing a black string bikini that barely covers her ass.
She walks past me to the glass doors, her hips swaying as she walks.
I stand up, feeling the weight of the moment settle in my chest.
I stand frozen by the kitchen table as she slides open the glass door, letting the warm summer air into the house.
The sound of leaves rustling in the breeze fills the room.
She stands in the doorway for a moment, one hand on her hip.
She turns back to face me, looking over her shoulder as she pauses.
Her eyes sparkle with mischief.
"Why don't we go skinny dipping?"
She asks.
I twist my fingers around my bracelet nervously as I consider it.
The metal feels cool against my sweating palm.
She reaches behind her neck and plays with the string of her bikini top, threatening to untie it.
I don't answer her and she steps out onto the concrete patio.
I grip the edge of the kitchen table, watching her through the glass doors.
She walks to the edge of the pool and dips one toe in the water.
Then she turns to face me, smiling invitingly.
She reaches behind her back and unties her bikini top, letting it fall to the concrete.
The afternoon sun highlights every curve of her body.
She steps into the pool, submerging herself to her shoulders.
"The water's perfect, Christine."
I stand up from the table, my legs shaking.
