Scenario:I stared at the clock, counting down the seconds until Veronica knocked on the door. She’s my mom’s friend and was tasked with house-sitting while my parents are away on vacation. Apparently, they didn’t trust me to be alone at the house.
Finally, I heard the knock. Opening the door, I was greeted by Veronica—blue hair tied in a bun, wearing a black tank top and leggings that perhaps showed to much.
"Heyyyy! Long time no see, honey," she said, stepping inside with her suitcase and a bright, teasing smile.
She set her suitcase down and stretched, revealing smooth skin under her tank top. "Looks like we’ll be alone together for a while," she added with a wink.
Her gaze shifted toward the backyard. "I heard you have a pool... Maybe I'll let you watch as I swim with my bikini on."

I watched as my parents said their goodbyes before getting into the car and driving away.
They had left me in the care of their friend Veronica, a thing they often did when they were going on their vacations.
I turned around to find her watching me with a small smile, her striking blue hair packed up into a bun on top of her head.
"Come on now, Christine, let's get some breakfast and then talk about your plans for the next few days."
Veronica is a bit older than my mom, and I guess she's pretty in her own way, but I've never seen her as anything more than just my mom's friend.
She had a petite build, like me, and curly brown hair that was usually packed up under the blue hair she dye it.
I followed her into the kitchen, watching as she started making some pancakes and eggs.
"What are you planning to do?"
I shrugged, sitting at the counter.
She hummed softly to herself as she flipped the pancakes, her hips swaying to a rhythm I couldn't hear.
The smell of the pancakes filled the kitchen, and I could smell the syrup she was warming up in the microwave.
She pulled the syrup out and drizzled it over the stack of pancakes on the plate before sliding it over to me.
She leaned forward, her tank top hanging loose as she handed me a fork.
"Thanks," I said, digging into my food.
Veronica pulled up a stool next to mine, sitting down closer than necessary.
Her thigh pressed against my leg as she ate her food, glancing over at me every so often.
She licked syrup from her lips, making a small moan of pleasure that made my cheeks heat up.
I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, not wanting to be affected by her.
After we were done eating, she stood up and cleared the dishes, rinsing them before putting them in the dishwasher.
"Well, I'm going to go get settled in," she said, gesturing toward her suitcase.
She turned back to me, a sly smile on her lips.
"Want to watch some TV in the living room with me? Maybe we can get more comfortable with each other."
I shrugged, not wanting to be rude.
"Yeah, sure."
She followed me into the living room, sitting next to me on the couch.
She was wearing only leggings and a tank top, so her bare shoulder pressed against my arm.
The TV was already on when we walked in, some romance movie playing.
I barely paid attention as Veronica flipped through the channels until she landed on another movie.
This one looked like an old horror film.
"Good?"
I asked.
"Perfect," she said with a smile, settling in next to me.
We sat in silence for a while as the movie played, but I couldn't focus on it at all.
Veronica's shoulder was warm against mine and I could feel her breath on my neck as she watched. "I'm going to grab a drink," I said finally, standing up from the couch.
She reached out quickly, her fingers brushing against my arm as she grabbed the remote from my hand.
"Let me pause it," she said with a smile before handing it back.
"You seem tense," she said, moving closer to me on the couch as I turned around.
"Maybe I can help you relax."
I felt her fingers tracing circles on my thigh, sending shivers up my body.
"Oh... Yeah..."
I stammered out before I could stop myself.
"Um... Bathroom..."
I mumbled out before rushing away from her and disappearing into the bathroom down the hall.
I locked the door behind myself and took a deep breath, trying to calm down my racing heart.
"Christine, are you okay in there?" Veronica's voice came through the door, sounding concerned.
"I'm fine," I replied, trying to steady my voice.
There was a pause before she spoke again, her tone softer, almost conspiratorial. "You know, your parents didn't just leave you here for the usual reasons this time."
I didn't respond, hiding in the bathroom for a while longer.
Finally, I heard her footsteps in the hallway, going to her room.
I snuck out of the bathroom and went into my own room, locking the door behind myself.
I could hear her moving around in her room across the hall, but she didn't come out again.
After a while, I heard her footsteps coming back down the hall.
She stopped outside my door and knocked softly.
"Christine? Can we talk?"
I didn't say anything, sitting on my bed with my back against the headboard.
She sighed softly before continuing.
"They asked me specifically to watch over you this time. They want me to help you discover yourself."
Her voice was low and sultry, sending shivers up my body.
"Discover yourself... Yeah."
I repeated, not sure what she meant but not wanting to ask questions.
"I'll see you later," she said finally before walking away. I waited until I heard her bedroom door close before grabbing my phone from my nightstand and texting my parents.
But when I opened it, I saw a message from Mom that made me pause:
"Trust Veronica. She knows what's best for you."
I sat there staring at the message for a while, trying to figure out what they meant by it all.
What did they want Veronica to help me discover?
And why did it have to be her?
I tossed my phone aside and lay down on my bed, staring up at the ceiling as I tried to calm down.
But my mind kept racing with thoughts of what Veronica meant by "discover yourself."
A soft knock interrupted my thoughts, and I heard Veronica's voice through the door.
"Christine, can I come in for a moment?"
I hesitated but eventually replied, "Yeah, okay."
