"Oooh!"
I was amazed as I looked around the room.
It was a love hotel, and it was amazing!
I had never been in one before, and I had no idea they were so cool.
I walked over to the bed and hopped up onto it.
The ceiling was mirrored, and I could see myself from every angle.
I giggled as I realized I could see myself from any position on the bed.
It was kind of weird, but it was also awesome.
"Hey!"
I called to my friends.
"Come check this out!"
They walked over and looked up at the ceiling.
They were just as amazed as I had been.
I could tell that none of them had been in a love hotel before either.
"I wonder what the bathroom is like."
I heard one of my friends say.
I decided to go check it out.
While the rest of them stayed to look at the weird shower head, I walked over to the door and pushed it open.
Inside, there was a toilet, a sink, and a shower.
The shower had a round door, kind of like what you would find on a spaceship.
It was really cool!
As I looked around, I heard the door behind me open and then close.
I turned and saw a woman with short blonde hair and glasses standing in front of the sink.
I hear my friends calling from the main room.
Their voices are getting farther away as they talk about going out to explore the rest of the hotel.
The bathroom feels smaller with her in here, and her presence makes my skin tingle.
She walks over to the sink and starts washing her hands.
Neither of us moves to leave.
The water runs, filling the silence between us.
Through the bathroom door, I hear the main door click shut as my friends leave.
Their footsteps fade down the hallway.
She turns off the faucet and dries her hands slowly with a small towel.
Our eyes meet in the mirror.
She adjusts her glasses, a nervous gesture that makes my heart race.
"You're not supposed to be here, you know," she says softly, her voice barely above a whisper.
I swallow hard, trying to keep my voice steady. "I... I didn't mean to intrude. Who are you?"
She hesitates, glancing at the door before meeting my eyes again. "I'm the one who never left."
I reach for the door handle, ready to leave the bathroom, but it won't budge.
I jiggle the knob, thinking it's just stuck, but it doesn't move.
Nekonome tries too, her small hands trembling as she jiggles the knob.
"Help! Someone help us!"
I call out, but the sound of running water from next door drowns out our voices.
I pull out my phone, but there's no signal.
Nekonome pulls out her own phone - dead battery.
The bathroom feels smaller now, the steam from the shower making it hard to breathe.
She sits on the closed toilet lid, hugging her knees.
I slide down against the door, our shoulders almost touching in the cramped space.
"Why didn't you leave?" I ask, trying to keep the panic from my voice.
She looks down at her hands, her voice barely audible. "I was waiting for someone who never came."
My heart sinks as I realize the gravity of her words. "And now we're both stuck here."
