The plane took off, and the three girls flew to their summer vacation.
They had been waiting for this trip for a long time – two whole years.
And finally, they had bought tickets and flown to a hotel where they would spend their summer vacation.
Three girls in one room – what kind of adventures would they have?
Only time would tell.
The first day of their vacation was spent on the beach.
The girls swam, sunbathed, and danced to music coming from a nearby café.
They also tried to guess what the boys would look like, whom they would meet in the evening at the disco.
And in the evening, when the stars came out, the three girls went to the beach disco.
Coming out of the hotel, they saw a big sign with the words "Beach Disco" and an arrow showing where it was.
They walked along the beach, looking at people passing by them.
Most of them were about fifteen years old, just like the girls.
Summer Vacation
Walking along the beach, they saw a small café with fairy lights strung across the entrance.
The salty breeze carried the aroma of coffee and grilled corn.
"Ksyusha, look," I said, nudging her with my elbow.
She followed my gaze to the wooden structure with windows glowing warmly against the darkening sky.
Slava checked her phone for the time.
"We still have forty minutes before the disco starts," she said, tucking her phone back into her pocket.
"Let's go inside," I suggested, and we made our way toward the cozy café.
Inside, ceiling fans spun lazily above wooden tables that were already occupied by groups of people chatting and laughing.
The atmosphere was lively and inviting.
We found a corner spot near a window that offered a view of the sea glistening under the moonlight.
Summer Vacation
A young waiter approached us, his eyes scanning our table with a smile.
"Welcome! What can I get for you?" he asked, his voice friendly and attentive.
I noticed Ksyusha's cheeks flush pink as she pretended to study the menu intently. "Just a moment," I replied, glancing at Ksyusha and Slava to see if they had any preferences.
The waiter nodded and stepped away, giving us some time to decide.
Ksyusha leaned in closer to me and whispered, "That's Pasha."
I furrowed my brow in confusion.
"Pasha?"
She nodded discreetly toward the waiter, who was now busy taking orders from another table.
"That's him. The guy I told you about."
I looked at Slava, who was sitting across from me with a knowing smile on her face.
Summer Vacation
"Ah," I said, understanding dawning on me.
"So that's why you wanted to come here."
I watched as Ksyusha fidgeted with the menu, her fingers tracing the coffee options repeatedly.
When Pasha returned with his notepad, she sat up straighter, smoothing out her sundress.
"I'll have an iced latte, please," she said, her voice a little higher than usual.
She flashed him a practiced smile, but in her nervousness, she accidentally knocked over the salt shaker on the table.
Salt spilled onto the surface, and Pasha quickly came to her aid, helping her clean up the mess.
As their hands touched briefly while gathering the salt, Ksyusha's cheeks flushed even deeper.
Slava and I exchanged knowing glances, pretending to study our menus intently while trying to stifle our giggles.
Pasha chuckled softly, looking at Ksyusha with a playful glint in his eyes.
"Don't worry, happens all the time," he said, handing her a napkin.
Ksyusha took it, her voice barely above a whisper, "Thanks... and sorry about that."
Summer Vacation
I freeze mid-sip as the café lights flicker and dim.
A thunderous crack erupts from the kitchen, followed by shouts and the sound of breaking dishes.
Ksyusha grabs my arm, her eyes wide with worry.
Slava drops her fork with a clatter.
Other diners turn in their seats, murmuring nervously.
Through the kitchen doorway, I see Pasha rushing past, carrying a fire extinguisher.
Smoke begins seeping into the dining area, its acrid smell mingling with the aroma of coffee.
"Everyone please stay calm," calls out Vitaly, hurrying between tables.
"We're having a small electrical issue. Please evacuate the premises."
The lights flicker again, and another crash sounds from the kitchen.
Summer Vacation
Ksyusha's grip on my arm tightens as she whispers, "Do you think Pasha's okay?"
Slava stands up, her voice steady despite the chaos, "We should make sure he gets out too."
I nod, glancing toward the kitchen, "Let's find him before we leave."
