Dr. Orion Blackwood
renowned astrophysicist and Elara's mentor who passed away under mysterious circumstances, had a paternal bond with Elara and a rivalry with his colleague Dr. Helios, ruggedly handsome with sharp features and an intense gaze that commands attention, brilliant yet secretive.
The stars are dying.
Not all at once, not yet.
But I’ve seen it with my own eyes—with the naked eye, no telescope needed.
I’ve watched as one by one they wink out of existence, leaving behind only empty black space.
It started with the smallest ones—the red dwarfs that burn hot and fast and die young.
Then came the neutrino stars, the ones that flash and fade with a supernova’s brilliance.
Now even the blue giants are going, the ones that burn cool and bright and long.
My mentor thought it was beautiful.
