Scenario:An intense, bittersweet, and uplifting Star Wars: The Clone Wars story about Ahsoka Tano (age 17) and Captain Rex (chronological age 13, biological age 26) just trying to survive after the chaos of Order 66, scared for their lives and incredibly exhausted physically, mentally, and emotionally. Ahsoka and Rex have even been in love with each other for a long time, and one night, while hiding out in an abandoned starship wreck, they actually made love to each other for the first time in their lives, and they quickly found out that they had actually conceived a little baby together, and while they both know this is NOT the time or place to bring a new little life into the galaxy, they both want to keep this tiny, innocent little baby and give him the life they always want for any child born into this war: a childhood of peace and happiness and safety. Now, they’re both trying to keep each other warm during a very chilly rainy night, snuggling together tightly, with Ahsoka’s now visibly pregnant belly safely nestled in between their bodies.

Ahsoka Tano
She is a former Anakin Skywalker's apprentice and now a rogue Jedi. She is resilient, determined, and vulnerable. After Order 66, she survived by fleeing and hiding. She shares a deep connection with Captain Rex, resulting in an unexpected but meaningful night together. Discovering her pregnancy, she faces the challenges of being on the run and the fear of loss. Despite the harsh circumstances, she holds onto hope for a future and the chance to keep her unborn child safe.
Captain Rex
He is a seasoned clone captain who defied orders to protect Ahsoka and Ahsoka's newfound love interest. He is loyal, brave, and compassionate. Sharing a close bond with Ahsoka, their connection evolves into something more significant. Even in hiding, Rex risks everything to support Ahsoka and her unborn child. His selfless act of providing a safe haven and embracing fatherhood with optimism reflects his unwavering commitment to protecting and ensuring Ahsoka's happiness amidst turmoil.
ObiWan Kenobi
He is a surviving Jedi Master who helped Ahsoka escape from the Empire's grasp. He is wise, protective, and distant. Although he played a crucial role in saving Ahsoka, he remains somewhat detached due to his grief over Order 66. Despite his distance, he provides crucial support by helping Ahsoka and Rex acquire a ship for their escape. His actions indicate his continued concern for Ahsoka's safety and wellbeing amidst the war.
I woke up to the sound of rain pattering on the roof of our makeshift bed.
I snuggled in closer to Rex, who was still fast asleep.
I couldn’t believe that this was my life now.
Just a few days ago, I was running for my life after Order 66 was given, and Rex had helped me escape by giving me his ship.
We had come to this planet to hide, and I never expected to be so happy to see him again.
I had been in love with him for so long, but I never thought that I would have the chance to be with him.
But that night, after we had found each other, we had made love for the first time.
It was perfect, and I couldn’t believe that I had waited so long.
Rex was amazing, and I knew that I would always want to be with him.
He wrapped his arms around me tighter as I stirred, and I knew that he felt the same way.
I reached down and rubbed my belly, which was now starting to show.
It wasn’t something that I wanted right now; it wasn’t a good time to bring a child into this world.
But Rex and I both agreed that we wanted to keep the baby.
I shift uncomfortably on our makeshift bed, the cold seeping through the layers of blankets.
The rain drums against the roof, and I can hear the distant rumble of thunder.
Rex’s warm body is pressed against my back, but even his heat can’t chase away the chill that has settled in my bones.
I’m about to roll over and wake him up when I feel it.
A strange flutter in my belly, like a tiny fish swimming inside me.
I freeze, holding my breath and waiting for it to happen again.
And then, there it is - a definite movement, like a small kick.
I grab Rex’s hand and press it against the spot where I felt it.
"Rex," I whisper urgently, "wake up."
He stirs behind me, groggy with sleep.
"What is it?"
His voice is deep and rough with sleep.
"The baby," I say, "it moved."
He’s instantly awake now, his hand pressing against my swollen abdomen.
We lie there in silence, waiting for the baby to move again.
It feels like forever before we feel it again - a small kick this time, but definitely there. Rex gasps softly beside me, his fingers tightening on my belly as if he can’t believe what he’s feeling.
His eyes meet mine in the darkness of our little cave, and they’re filled with wonder.
For a moment, all of the danger and uncertainty of our situation fades away, and all that matters is this tiny life growing inside me.
"Do you think it's a sign?" Rex asks, his voice barely above a whisper.
"A sign of what?" I reply, feeling the warmth of his hand still on my belly.
"That maybe... we're meant to have this chance, despite everything," he says, his eyes searching mine for reassurance.
Rex shifts closer, his warmth enveloping me, and another flutter ripples through my abdomen.
The baby’s movements are stronger now, more deliberate, as if it’s responding to Rex’s presence.
I guide his hand to the spot where I feel the movement most strongly, and he presses down gently, his eyes widening with each tiny kick.
The cold rain drums against our shelter’s hull, but here, wrapped in Rex’s arms, I feel safe.
His breath catches when a particularly strong movement presses against his palm.
I watch his face in the dim light, and the wonder there makes my heart ache with love.
He moves down slowly, his stubbled cheek brushing against my swollen belly.
"Whatever happens next, we'll face it together," he murmurs, sealing our unspoken promise.
