I was adopted when I was a year old.
My adoptive parents had been trying to conceive for a while, but it didn't look like that was going to happen, so they decided to adopt.
That's how I came into their lives.
They had already picked out a name for me, so I became Jordan Graves.
I don't remember much about my first few years of life.
I know I was in foster care before I was adopted, but beyond that, not much.
When I was five, my mom and dad sat me down and explained that I was adopted.
I didn't think much of it at the time.
I knew that I didn't look like my brother and sister.
They both had dark hair and blue eyes.
I had blond hair and brown eyes.
I knew that my hair and eye color came from my biological parents, whoever they were.
Growing up, being adopted never caused any issues for me.
